:information_source: Quick note/summary note for users that haven’t logged in for a while but received a notification for this topic: we want to put a banner displaying neat unicycling pictures on the home page of the forum. Please reply if you agree for your picture(s) to be displayed to this intent :hugs:

I’ll create a topic per discipline with a custom selection of pictures (thank you @Ulkicycling for pre-selecting many of them).

As said before, the goal is to create a welcome banner displaying 3 or 4 pictures (random pictures is possible, but I’ll keep it simple for the first banner iteration) for visitors, and maybe newly registered users, so the site is more welcoming and shows the extent of unicycling disciplines as well as riders’ diversity.

Note that only pictures with the authorization of the author will be selected regardless of the number of votes. Many of these pictures are from users who didn’t log in for a long time, but hopefully they’ll receive a notification (because I’m quoting their own post) and will be able to agree for their picture(s) to be used.

If they don’t, but some of you personally know them, please feel free to reach out to them and ask them to have a look and post if they agree.

Many pictures are of experienced riders (especially muni/off-road riders…) . The few beginners seem to be mostly children. Feel free to post additional pictures featuring beginners of all ages in your replies :slight_smile:

:warning: When voting, please consider that the goal is not to show off the most impressive pictures, but to display the unicycling diversity, female and male, young to old, beginner to experienced, so the banner is appealing for anyone visiting the site.

Also my selection is purely subjective. I tried to pick mostly high-quality pictures. Again, feel free to add other pictures in your replies if you think they’d fit in the banner.

If you think some pictures in my selection aren’t a good fit for the banner, please let me know as well.

Some of the users haven’t tried to log in after the forum migration, and their email is invalid (they used @unicyclistg.com emails, which don’t work anymore). If you personally know them, you can nudge them, they’ll have to ask me to update their email address.

Those are aspenmike, napalm, and Unicycler94 (who disabled all notifications from the forum, so I won’t contact them personally – feel free to do it if you know them).

I think I’ll open the next topic (for freestyle/street/flat/trial) in one week, so we have some time to gather votes, and pick new non-muni pictures that can be suggested in :uni: Propose unicycling photos (and text) to be displayed on the homepage for visitors.

I give permission to use the picture of my family (the one with 5 included in this email). I haven’t logged in for a long time…. Not sure where I should give permission.

Permission granted to use the photo of my daughter in the pink sweatshirt. Also linking some other (possibly better) photos of her riding Muni on her 16”. The one of her and I was a calendar picture in 2021 or 2022
