Pictures of your latest ride continued

Sir Cranky has been given a very fitting title. That full video is incredible!

So peaceful. Love the sound of the wind through the grass.

So much fun gliding down.

No e-cheaters allowed.

Smol friend.

You didn’t fool me pretending to be a stick.

No more boss.

I’m tired. Abbie was wanting to quit ¾ of the way through the ride. I didn’t let that happen.

Felt really good at completion. Strava padded my ride with ~10miles. I’ll gladly take those miles as it makes me seem like a better ride.

Edit: Man. I was flying down that trail. Wish I could certify it for a Guinness world speed record.

Yeah the max speed, was umm … high. Regarding the steepness at his peak speed down, the grade is apparently -13.3%, though that route he took seems to average at -14%. So the downhill route is relatively consistent.

His route up averaged only 12.9% (which makes sense as it is longer due to the curve) but that does not give the full picture. It is much steeper initially, then it levels somewhat. The steepest part is into the 20 something grade area. Interestingly he is actually going pretty quick at that point, probably largely due to momentum (and the fact it is a relatively short period where it is so steep).

[By the way I am checking these figures with a combo of his own Strava log and mapping manually with OnTheGoMap. Neither is close to perfect. So do not take these as absolute figures (keep a little salt to hand) but it probably gets you in the ballpark.]

I took a picture looking down from the lampost, which is his turning point. Though it flattens it a little, I feel. Nonetheless, here is that picture.

Oh and finally, if you wondered how close this is to my work, here is a picture taken from the window next to my desk. That is the starting point down at the bottom of the window. To the right my screen, shows me composing this very message. :stuck_out_tongue:

The top speed on Strava is certainly somewhat exaggerated although I can say that the descent felt quite dangerous… unsurprisingly.

My latest ride was monday last week…

The family made a short trip to the Netherlands in the Easter week to see something else and hopefully some tulips.
We saw endless fields of tulips with many different colours!
I found a single track near Kampen where we stayed.
The track consisted of long straight segments so I focused on the most organicly shaped part in the hope that it would be more entertaining and have some elevation. There was 3 regular hills, the highest was a good 5 meters above the otherwise very level terrain. As a Dane and 50+, this level of elevation suited my physique very well.
The weather was perfect, some trees even had leaves and the birds were busy singing.

I was going to ask if this wasn‘t a bit boring, but

As a Dane and 50+, this level of elevation suited my physique very well.

then I decided against it
Glad that you enjoyed your ride.

I could have gone downhill for a lot longer, but uphill it was very suitable. I even had a little bit of wind to spare.

14 km ride, 864 Elevation Meters, 1 Hour and 51 Minutes with the 29" Muni today. It was good. On the Top i drink a hot chocolat and a cake but it was expensive. I hadn’t ridden more than two meters when I saw a tree. Afterward, my left foot hurt. Luckily, I was able to continue, but the descent wasn’t much fun. Luckily, there were only a few patches, but it didn’t have to be that way.

I recognize that prayer!

Avoid the edge with stinky sand. Almost went down the embankment.

Danger. Low bridge.

This isn’t the most exciting photo, but I got out yesterday evening and this evening for 2.7 miles (4.2Km) each day. Each day was a 2.7 mile (4.2Km) loop.

(Edited to answer the question from @Felgenbremse )

It’s great to hear that. Most of the time ,under the week, i ride my Bicycle and i don’t have any time to ride my Unis. Also a good Training 4,2 km. Each Way or is it a Round?

The Uni ride was at sunday from last week. It was good. Uesterday evening i ride with my old yellow Bicycle but a good bicycle home from the Trainstation.

Yesterday I upgraded my 24" Torker with a toolkit and a bottle holder.

It was absolutely awesome to take a swoop of water whenever I wanted. I felt so overpowered! I just love to casually grab the bottle and take a drink whenever I notice people watching me (which is all the time) :joy:

As expected, the bottle did not endure a simulated UPD. No unicycles or bottles were harmed. The toolkit sits quite firmly though.

I really love this T7 handlebar now. It keeps my riding steady, my throat moisturized and my tools at hand.

The handlebars with upgrades are really for my Coker though. I just haven’t shortened the seatpost yet and decided to to the actual testing on this machine instead. :star_struck:

A 24" can be a lot of fun on 100 mm cranks or shorter (I will soon test out 80 mm). I think I am really going to miss these handlebars on it.

Yes, that is right. Also for Muni rides is a 24" a lot of fun and can be also faster as a 29" with short cranks. I’m don’t want to go fast by hard Trails but it’s fast enough for me with 127 mm Cranks.
