Great Tire and a nice Muni.
I think I bought it from Bicyclebuys.com. It is the 24x3.5, but it is now listed as “no longer available” on their website. I did find it at the two following options:
Can you use it with the normal frame with the 100 mm Hub from Bearing to Bearing or is this tire to big for the Frame? I don’t want it to use it for my Muni but for me it is also interesting because it’s also good for some distance riding with the 24". Yes my tire are a bit hard used and yes you can also go with this bad tire without a good profile for ride the Muni, it’s possible to go a bit more in distance riding. No, I don’t have a bigger wheel for Distace riding. ![]()
The speedster 24x3.5 was too wide for me to use it with a Large Marge rim in my Koxx 24” 100mm bearing-to-bearing frames. For those frames, I needed to use a 2.8” or narrower tire. However, the same frames will take a Duro 24x3.0” tire.
All that being said, the 24x3.5” wide Speedster is too wide for a “normal” 24” Muni frame. To make it work, I used a Mad4One Large frame. The Mad4One medium frame would have been too narrow.
Thanks for the links @Uni2ONE2 .
During my searches, I did not find a shop that was still listing the Vee Speedster in 24x3.5 (only the 1.5 and 1.75 variants) but your Amazon link gave me an idea and I found a noname copy
:
Now I “just” have to find the 1 tire listing variant or bite the bullet and have yet another spare ![]()
Today i will do no ridin…
…im going to strip (hm?..wait, im not done)
to strip my old trackmonsters color and
give it some new style.
…
You‘re gonna strip, and then ride monster style. Did I get this about right?
A Fat Muni and A Fat Bike. That is great !!! This Week I was a bit lazy, because I work a lot and now the Weather is to bad for go for a Unicycle ride. That is pretty bad I think.
Ja, we got heavy rain here to.
I decided to stay on the couch…
Fat Muni, Fat Bikes, Fat me ![]()
I can dream to stay on the couch… but no I’ve to Clean up my room, in the room there’re also 3 Unicycles. So I’m not so lost.
Due to major road works on my regular route, I’ve swapped to riding my 24" and am really enjoying it. Hopefully I’ll get some 110 or 100mm cranks soonish which should increase the fun factor
With a wheel mounted, the frame really looks a bit like Frankensteins Monster… No issues with trousers getting caught?
That uni looks quite bad ass, indeed.
@digger was born to ride such fat tires.
As a Muni noob, once I had the opportunity to try a 24" x 4" uni. Having in mind that I just dismounted my 36", it was so funny for me that I had trouble mounting this thing. After success it was a bit bouncy to ride, I don’t know how it feels like on difficult terrain. As an ex-motorbike rider I know the problems of riding fat tires i.e. along the edge of a street when only the very left edge of the tire is asymmetrically touching the ground. It scaringly pulls you off your way.
Which castle is in the background?
BR Sanne
I’d say the Löwenburg castle in Kassel. Nice to be able to ride there.
I’ve been getting out & about on my 24" lately, and I’m enjoying it. Just longing for some shorter cranks.
It is the Löwenburg in Kassel.
Sanne once noticed, that we have castels on every little hill…
And yes, big tyres have the autosteering.
They are bouncy and little precise to control and all…but i like em anyway.
And issues with throusers getting caught?
No. Normaly the knees move in front of the frame. Only when you need to get out of the seat, riding standing, you should wear knee protectors.
Yesterday i had the Seat to low and the wheel (bearing hubs) not propper tightened and no tools.
And (murphys law) caused by the weather no other bikers around… a mess.
But at least i perfectly timed my ride and the no-rain-phase.
