Post Your Current Projects Here

It is a Mad4One Ergal hub (ISIS interface, 36 holes). I missed a great deal on a used Exceed hub but snatched this one on sale at UDC UK.

Full build to be published when I have a nice pic (should get the final tire next Tuesday in the mail).

So… we’re using carbon wheels now are we?

I wonder what the situation is like for running a G29 with a carbon rim for road use. Would it stand up to the strain? It seems like it’d be an epic commuter, lighter and nippier than a 36er!

I’ve been riding hard on my carbon 27,5’’ since last summer, the feel of the ride is really different but it’s awesome to ride. It would last on road for sure. I live in a very rocky area and there’s no damage on it! (2 riped tires though…) :stuck_out_tongue:

I dont think it’s necessary at all. But I love mine!

I’m just trying to imagine the difference between a good, lightweight carbon 29er road rim (geared up) compared to a heavy 36er. It’d be epic! Then again, a good lightweight aluminium 29er would be night and day to a 36er too…

The biggest difference on my muni wasn’t from weight, I only save 75g going from aluminum to carbon (I saved a bit more on the whole setup because I had less spokes, double butted spokes and lighter hub). The difference was how stiff the carbon rim is! My first rides were horrible, it wasn’t confortable and I kept falling. I got used to it pretty fast and now I love it. Most riders use bigger tires so might not notice as much, I use a 2.35’’ and I live in a very rocky area.

On the road it would be insane. Mine doesn’t have a Schlumpf built on it, but it would be a blast for sure if it had one… even better if my bearings were in good shape! :stuck_out_tongue:

What tire do you have on it?

Homemade 27,5 KH:

24" Fat Tyre

Thanks to Sergey from onlycycle.ru for making it possible.

24 inch fat wheel with 80mm 36 hole cutout rim. Couldn’t find many 24 inch fat rims especially not with cutouts.

Powdercoated for $8.50 and built for another $8.50

Chao Yang 120 TPI Tyre.

Flansberrium frame with Veetire Snowshoe 2XL 26x5.05. Shoutout to Jacok for an awesome frame and incredible workmanship. It rides great and is my preferred uni these days.

That thing is incredible! What kind of seat is that? I love the black with orange stitching!

Methinks seat is Qu-ax Eleven.

Nice clean design!

Painted titan

I painted my once chrome udc Titan 36er to an army greenish color. Stoked how it came out especially since a lot of reading I did said reprinting chrome was really complicated. I just sanded the crap out of it and used a self etching primer spray paint and clear coat! Hopefully it will hold up!

Interesting look. Would even look better with a black seatpost.

That’s the plan! Already have some black cranks coming in the mail next step is a seat Post!

few grams makes the difference on road riding but not because of the dead weight but inertial one due to rotating mass

It is easier to notice the difference with carbon rim in road riding and they stiff, very

Not a ridable unicycle but mounting the frames I have collected so I can display them. A few more not pictured here.

Impressive collection. I hope that you still tried some with a wheel just for the sake of saying that they are not just expensive coat hangers  :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought about you when recently another Koxx Carbon frame popped up in the German trade thread.

And thanks for sharing nice pics

Your display of frames looks great.
