New tire for my 20". It’s a 2.4" BMX tire from a collab between Vans and Cult. I love how grippy and bouncy it is!
Looks like a caravan of polar bears ![]()
That truly is a clowns unicycle. I hope you can juggle ![]()
I can! It’s my other passion. I’m still working on combining the two skills. The hard part is idling without flailing ![]()
Yup! I can kinda juggle on a unicycle (I learned it, but don’t use it a lot, sooo…), but only as long as I’m riding. Juggling while idling is a different beast to master.
Recently received handlebars from @sledgehammer and I put them on my 20er. The problem is that it isn’t very long and doesn’t work well with the 20" because I cannot put it on the seatpost, even with the shim it came with. Maybe I need a thicker shim?
Yes, or you bought a Kris Holm T-Bar.
I like to re-purpose things I no longer have use for. A while ago I decided to get rid of an old porch swing that was haggard and no longer used. After dismantling the swing part, I looked at the frame and got an idea. After a long time of having my unis all jumbled up in the garage, they now have their own "garage. "
Cheers!
My inner hillbilly is greatly pleased by your reuse. Neat. Clean. Proper. Everything in its proper place.
Looks nice!
I wonder if you don’t get problems with the breaks, because the unis hang upside down.
I can remember that the disc break on my bike once took some time to work again after i turned my bike upside down to change the tyre.
Since then i use a bike stand for repairs, so i don’t know if it would happen again.
Glad you received the handlebar. First, the stem with shim works for 27.2mm seat posts (i.e. Kris Holm). The seat post of your Nimbus unicycle is very likely a 25.4mm one. So yes, you need a different shim. Second, you may want to flip the stem so that it tilts up instead of tilting down. That way the bar extends higher/further. Third, I often remove the handle on my saddle when I install a handlebar, so the handle won’t get in the way. Fourth, the bar helps more when you use it for mountain/cross country/long distance unicycling. It may not help much on a trial unicycle. Let me know if you have more questions.
Thanks for the ideas. I don’t typically use this uni for trials though, it’s more for distance riding. I ride it to school, and that’s why I wanted to put handles on it.
I didn’t think of that, but it hasn’t been a problem so far (I’ve had in use for about 6 months now). I’ll keep an eye on it.
Thanks for the heads-up! ![]()
I notice that near the bottom of your picture you have partial unicycle frame (seat tube and crown left)? If both your seat post and the stem fit that seat tube, then maybe you can cut a section of that seat tube as shim. Just a thought.
Great idea! That was an old 16" frame that I had tried to cut and weld into a 24" frame, but it didn’t really work out… I tested it and it fits both parts. I don’t think I have a saw that can cut it, but I’ll ask my neighbor.
Cool
The impact gravity frame is painted or is it anodized ?
Sharp eye, Louis!
Yes, the Impact frame is older, and is anodized. ![]()
Finally got a bar installed on the Huni!
Just came back from a test ride not too long ago and I think it’s a game changer.
I’m not surprised by this. Had the same experience with my Schlumpf.
