Post a picture of your unicycle(s)

I volunteer with a group that takes donated bikes that kids have outgrown, fixes them up, and gives them away again. This came in with the latest batch of donated bikes - a pretty nice old school Koxx 1 trials/street type uni. It’s from before my time, anybody know anything more about it? It’s from a previous generation vs. the e.g. “White Russian” and “Green Devil” that I remember being liquidated when I was starting to ride.

  • steel frame with stamped bearing holders
  • Koxx 1 ISIS hub and 140mm cranks, bearings slip on, not a press fit
  • Try-all rim, tire, and seatpost (27.2 seatpost shimmed to 29.2 to fit the frame)
  • KH fusion street gel saddle

Tire still held air, I was a little surprised. I put some pedals on it and rode it around. Kind of heavy but feels really solid.

That tire got some USE! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a bald unicycle tire before. The King George tire on my 36er has almost 4k miles on it, and it’s still in better shape than that bad boy

Did you mean to post in this thread?

Yes, I thought I had…

Considering the names of the threads are the exact same, could it be some sort of bug?

Only 10? Where are the ultimate wheels? :stuck_out_tongue:

Looks indeed like a bug. I merged it again. No idea, why this happened.

Haha, did have one, a 26er, but did not have much success at riding it and my mate got it first go and really enjoyed it so I gave it to him.

Thank you!

I installed a new saddle bag on my 36er. The teethy part is a zippered expansion section. I’ve had a hard time installing saddle bags on unicycles, even ones with bike seats, since the seatpost angle doesn’t leave a lot of room back there.

To make it work, I used this cheap springy saddle thing and cut it in half to essentially make a rail extender. The solution was inspired by this post on an electric bike forum, which used the same thing for a slightly different purpose.

New (to me) unicycle day… Just got done cleaning it up

(Yes the pedals aren’t threaded in all the way, it was just temporary during cleaning)

There’s no branding anywhere on the unicycle, but the combination of parts on it from what I can tell points to it potentially being an Avenir I think? Apart from having suspension, this old post almost describes it one-to-one. Perhaps someone more familiar with these unis can provide more info.

Parts Summary
  • 125mm cotterless hub (No branding, 6203 bearings)
  • 22.2mm seat post
  • 127mm cranks
  • Alex Rims DX32 rim
  • Luna “Bike Trials” 20x2.50 (67-387) tire
  • Rim brake mounts(!)

I did give it a quick spin with a longer seat post from one of my other unis, and it’s definitely… Something  It does take some getting used to, especially when mounting as the unicycle compresses under my weight.

It’s definitely going to need some new parts though if I want to do some actual riding. Longer seat post, new saddle at least. Might also need some new bearing clamps as they were really cranked on when I got it :smiling_face_with_tear: But I’ll make it work. Feel free to ask any questions

What a wonderful odd unicycle. Weird that I haven’t seen any references to something like this before even though it looks commercially made. Is that a 125mm hub in a 19” rim? At least you don’t have to worry about tacoing it ever. Are you going to add brakes to it? V brakes or magura hs on a 19” would really complete this early 2000s absurdity.

I was going to say 20", but indeed it is 19" after checking the ETRTO diameter  So that makes this my first 19" unicycle!

In the future I was thinking of relacing the wheel with a UDC hub to make it at least a little bit stronger, although I’m generally pretty gentle with my unis so I might not really need that extra strength. Would make for a nice project if I need to pass the time during the winter though

Might as well :slightly_smiling_face: If the functionality is there, I’ll sure advantage of it!

I’d love to try one. with springs or maybe they are like shock breakers. It looks very nice.
