Pictures of your latest ride

oooooooo!! Pretty sunset!!!

Nice images

Nice photographs!!!

Did the Manchester SkyRide on Sunday, and apparently I was the only unicyclist riding it (though there’s a photo of about 5 uni’s on the start-off, they were all on 20" wheels and I didn’t see them all day). There were also supposedly between 10,000 and 15,000 cyclists there, so there probably was other uni’ers, but the people who I had hoped to meet there didn’t go (I GOT DITCHED!! :frowning: ).

Lots of great responses, specially when I told them I’d done 4 or 5 laps (I couldn’t remember, the heat/exhaustion were getting to me by this point), which is over 30 miles. Only picture I’ve found of myself so far was from a guy who rode past me and embarrassingly asked for a photo, and he tagged it on Twitter

I dunno what’s with the ‘sat on the toilet’ pose, I think he snapped me just before I thumbs-upped. Was a fantastic ride, can’t wait to do another

Other picture (Taken by me) Is some old-style canal boats we went past. There were people in them, so I guess they’re used!

We went to Alabama this summer to take my daughter to Space Camp. It was really hot so we didn’t do much riding. My daughter did ride at Marshall Space Center and my son tried to fit in on a bike/pedestrian path. The rest of the time we spent trying to find air conditioning - anything inside: Nashville Science Center, Mammoth Cave, Grand Ol’Oprey, …

I always wanted to go to space camp!! Looks like they had fun, despite the heat.

I know I’m a little late, but that’s actually quite an accomplishment, congradulations! :sunglasses:

Discovered I can get some good seat time, while riding with my wife when she’s doing her walk, if I ride my Nimbus Oreo. 7 miles at slow speed. I mounted bottle racks as soon as I got home. This will be a regular thing. This is an old RR bridge converted to bike trail. 24 miles each way. Cheap phone..sorry.

jona, is that second shot the buxton rr trestle?

Answered my own question; jona, I pm’d you

Yes, the Banks to Vernonia rail-trail. I think the trestle is 7.5 miles from the Banks end. Very pretty and well maintained.

Dusted off the GoPro yesterday and got a new battery for it. I guess it was one of those toys I got bored with quick. Made some video of my commute, which I’ll eventually try to slap together into a YouTube movie if I can overcome my intertia. For now, here are a couple of snaps. It’s surprisingly easy to lug the camera on a long-ish ride. Even with the little pole, it’s pretty light!

Sodo correct? Yikes, that area scares me. Too many cyclist get hurt or killed there.

Fortunately on a 36er your such a spectacle EVERYONE sees you. I do agree though, it’s hairy down there.

Nice pics! GoPro does a good job. How long is your pole that its attached to?

…yeah, I only do that route on Saturday when traffic’s down. During the week, I swing out to the waterfront where there’s a nice bike lane and the new improved trail. Um, the “GoPole” is like 2.5 feet, I’m guessing.
When I ride back tonight, I’ll pop over the swing bridge on Harbor Island…should be some nice shots over there. --cheers

btw: there’s one overriding upside to Sodo: Macrina Bakery!

Thanks! That was quite complex and not simple feeling
Luckily I got spare seat post

8-ish mile muni ride yesterday on the trail across the river from our greenway. This was my first real ride on a 26" muni. (sorry for the poor quality photo, it was that or huge)

It was just me, this morning before dawn, and I’m not one to take “selfies,” but here’s where I was riding: the Empire State Plaza in Albany, in the area of that red X. It was still dark.

Last sunday, we did our first “real life UCR” meeting. As you may know, some people on the forum are also doing a monthly sunday ride on Strava. Since I’m visiting the US this summer and spend some time in NC, Large Eddie offered we meet. Dave from Charlotte said he would join and so last sunday we did a “real life” ride as opposed to the usual “virtual” ride we do. Dave came with a friend on two wheels, and lent a bike to my girlfriend.

It was great fun, though we got a lot of rain on our faces. And not only on our faces, we just got completely wet. But for sure, it’s a great experience to put faces on forum members.

Only one picture… so rainy nobody dared to take picture during the ride!

I miss having unicycle club meetings there at the Plaza. It was a blast to hop up all those steps and then ride down.

I wanna try that, we should set up a meeting there to do that!
