We need to ride mid-mountain. I can think of several places on the trail just like that.

Ok it’s not as spectacular as Aspen Mike’s photos. I was out on the trails averaging 10 mph. I’m really enjoying the big wheel.

About hopping it depends how high And depends on personal abilities.

Metric Century!
That’s right. My first metric century, 100km (62.5 miles)! I rode from Southwick, MA down into CT on the Farmington Valley Trail. The last ten miles were painful. With all my stops, it took me 6hrs 45min. Then I somehow managed to ride another 7.5 miles with our unicycle club.

My poor California is on fire again, but at least I get to enjoy Southern Oregon’s incredible sunsets because of these fires. Unicycled to the YMCA to weight train. Probably won’t do that again, seeing as my arms felt like they were going to fall off during the ride home.

Yeah, I was having a hard time staying on my unicycle because every ten feet or so I’d jump off and snap another picture! Yesterday was the first thunderstorm I’d been in since I was a kid, so I guess this is what thunderstorms look like from afar?
Following the questions I had about Renting in NYC, I ended up taking my 20" on the plane with me. After all, it’s the lightest of my unicycles, and size-wise, with the tyre deflated it fits perfectly in the suitcase.
I was a bit weary of how it would do on the pavement and the outside in general since I’ve only ever used it indoor. So I lowered the saddle a bit and swapped the rubber pedals for DX spiked pedals. Had my first ride yesterday, 7km by the water front. Pretty cool. I thought New Yorkers would be a bit blasé like Parisians, but I have to say that I never got that many “Awesome!”, “Amazing!” and other “Cool!” on any rides.
And no one asked me where was my other wheel…
Wow, I was pretty shocked to see that first photo: I have a picture at that same spot on the trail from almost the same time (beginning of July), which is the trail that went from our doorstep in Labin down to Rabac.
I was also on family vacation in Croatia (last week of June, first week of July). We stayed in Labin but I was in Rabac a bunch of times at the beach. I also hiked the whole trail on foot and rode it on the mountain bike, but I unicycled mostly on the top part of the trail (about 4 times though), and only rode all the way down to Rabac on the muni once (a got a ride back up with my family :-)). You probably didn’t ride up that far, but I cleared the upper part of the trail on my first day (lots of thorn bushes) near the end of June. Were you able to ride much of the steep rocky trail around where that photo is? If so, then you’re a better rider than me (S2 on the Singletrail-Skala is about my limit on the Muni, and that was definitely S3 with a few S4 sections), as I had to walk most of that section (a bunch of big semi-natural steps). But yes, it was a good trail for muni.
Too bad we didn’t run into each other. It would have been funny to see another unicyclist.
I was there on the 11th of July. I walked up most part of the trail and was only able to ride down some sections. Some parts are much too difficult for me. I didn’t have enough time to make it up to Labin. We missed each other by one week. Would have been nice to ride there with another unicyclist.
I hope you don’t get lost, cause the place you go look very alike…
