COOL! I Climbed Katahdin on Sunday! Didn’t bring my Muni though, Its not allowed on the good trails anyways.
Unfortunately, Baxter doesn’t allow unis with the exception of the main dirt roads. This is a bit of land that is surrounded by Baxter, but owned by the Girl Scouts. My daughter goes to camp here and every year we help them take down tents for winter storage. They put us up in a heating cabin and feed us while we work hard in putting everything in storage. This year most of the work was already done so we had time to try some easy MUNI. It was great!
That is great! Was it cloudy at the top? The photos I have show the peark in the clouds on Sunday.
There were alot of hikers in town that had just finished the Appalachian Trail. I guess there is a rush to complete it before the snow.
Yeah a little bit cloudy at the top. You could tell it was like half AT hikers by the whiffs of BO. The best was the through hiker wearing a Yeti costume. THey popped champagne at the summit!
Riding the Hogs back
OK, dudes have posted video to this thread before so here is one of my ride today. Llanberis Pass in North Wales.
I have had the pleasure of riding again in upstate New York and encounter some fine beasts at the intersection of Burton Road and County Route 71. Here they be and the dog that apparently watches over them. And let’s not forget the bear clutching his salmon guarding over the entrance to Forest Park. I will not lie. Today was a good day.
I wanted to have a “Muni weekend” here in Krakow also, but the first try is bit disappointing as for Friday ride only two of us showed, and only one more for Saturday trip.
Anyway three of us had a great 30km ride in the hills and valleys around Krakow all in nice weather and autumn colors. I just hope that next time turnout will be better.
Hey, I’m finally getting around to posting photos of Ben and my son Owen from riding in Moab two weeks ago.
A pic from my ride on the bluffs in Bakersfield, CA just south of the Kern River. it was my first time out there on my uni. I was glad that it was only in the 80s today because it is tough being out in the direct sun for 2 hours. Still tons of fun, and worth the effort for the view at the top.
Was going to tost my snaps… But changed my mind due to quality of pics ![]()
All posts are so wonderful! Thanks to you all for sharing your ride pics! ![]()
The more the merrier!
I’ll put up more after my ride in the Wind Wolves Preserve next weekend. Another place I haven’t been, but have heard good things about.
All those of us in the UK really feel for you.
That kind of dry heat would kill you guys.
But don’t worry, the grass actually is greener where you are. ![]()
