Wish we could have joined you! Looks awesome!

Harvest “Mooni” Ride

A no lights night ride, guided only by the full(ish) moon as we climbed Prospect Mt in Lake George. The weather was cool and the clouds took some time off just for us. 6 miles up with an elevation gain of about 1600’ ft, played around at the top, then 6 miles back down. And no one got eaten by a bear. I say, that makes for a great night!

Chicago Skyline

^ Awesome pictures - I love unicycling at night, especially with the moon out like that! Unfortunately I won’t be able to do that for a while, as I have relocated to South Chicago, where it’s probably unsafe to do so… But that of course says nothing about the daytime lake shore riding.

I am tracking the decomposition of a raccoon along a stretch of highway I normally ride. All photos posted will have been taken without dismounting.

The photo on the left is a day or so after its death. The one on the right is from yesterday, two days later. I’ll take another shot tomorrow I hope.

It definitely doen’t look like its going to recover any time soon!!!

why would you post that? Its not funny! If you want to post that kind of thing there are plenty sick sites to post it on!

I think it’s interesting. It’s thoughtful of Raphael to take the time to document the sequence.

It’s a bit grim, but hardly sick, and certainly nothing that most cyclists don’t see on an everyday basis.

maybe if those sort of things are going to be posted they should be in a seperate forum?

The Clinic Loop at Waverly Hills Park

I park in the lower lot and ride the freshly paved road back up to the top of the hill (the next best thing to a chair lift) where I jump on the trail right about here.

Here are some of the berms dialed in for mountain bikers but also perfect for riding MUni.

As you can see, this is the “beginner” section. Very flowy! Plenty of spots to catch your breath.

Touring long distances on the road, I never learned to turn right with great efficiency. MUni changed all that!

A little rock garden which I ride or walk depending on the day and how many loops I’ve done.

Time to catch your breath again.

Still deep in the woods a long way from the truck.

This little section of downhill is steeper than it looks in the picture. That’s what they all say.

More Clinic Loop

Super smooth section. I’m flying thru here preparing for the whoop-ti-doos ahead.

Another right hand turn only this one is slightly uphill.

The parking lot is right around the corner. If time permits, I do it all again.

I certainly did not discount the possibility that these photos would piss some people off, however, in fact, this is what I - and as Into the Blue said, many others - deal with daily on our rides.

Provocative perhaps, but certainly something to consider while admiring aspenmike’s glorious vistas.

Believe me if I could time it so I could get a photo of a drunk, angry 20-something in a pickup truck shouting “f*ck you, faggot” at me, I would post that too.

I know this is old, but I am new and looking for a mountain tire to put on my surly 24" conundrum, what tire are you running on this?

Woh. You’re flying!
