It’s a good thing you have a mudguard for that section of the trail.
hope ya have sealed pedals and rember to drain the frame.
Yes, it really came in handy! ![]()
I hope I’ve got sealed pedals too; they’ll need replacing soon anyway, so no great loss if they’re not. As for draining the frame, the seatpost clamp area stayed out of the water, and (I don’t think) there’s anywhere else water could get in, so I haven’t as yet. Probably will do it soon though, and give the pedals and bearings a check over.
This morning’s ride along the Shelton Trail up behind our house.
@ONIONS - No water crossings to worry about here;).
@ASPENMIKE - I don’t have much in the way of colors to share either. Just shades of brown.
More colors from Aspen - this is the quintessential fall MUni ride in our area. Sunnyside which is comprised of approximately 20 miles, 34km’s combining world class singletrack with stunning views of Aspen and the Elk Mtns; many that tower over 14,000’, 4268 meters. With over 4,000’ of climbing, 1220 meters, this trail is just a stones throw from the town. This was a door to door ride from my home, at the base of Highlands ski area. I am so grateful to call this place home, and blessed to ride uni.
The McKenzie River Trail
Lanaboos and I had a great ride on the McKenzie River Trail in Oregon. Sylvia the trail dog gave out on us. She is a little spoiled and seemed to be enjoying the backpack ride more than the trail run. We think she was snickering by the end of the ride. We did not have a shuttle service so ended up riding back up the highway to get the car.
Unicycling in Oslo
I was contacted out of the blue by a fellow (Ilan) from Los Angeles. He was to stay 2 days in Oslo, and wanted to ride around Oslo. This is the beauty of beeing in a small sport.![]()
The Hubble “deep field”!
Focused on a random point on Earth, for 14 hours long exposure, the Hubble space telescope revealed mysterious terrestrial bodies, never before seen! ![]()
(Seriously, this took a lot of trial & error and time to get right. Timing each shot manually was the biggest challenge!)
My sight got geezed ![]()
I got some nice pictures on a Muni ride yesterday! I was trying out my friend’s 26" wheel on my KH24 frame! It turned out awesome… I want to have a 26" now
No pictures of me, I haven’t seen my footage yet, I’ll edit something soon ![]()
I enjoyed the video very much. Thank you for sharing.

Makym made me decide to go to the last MRB race this season in the series that I’m attending from time to time. This time it was in Istebna, south of Poland, very close to the point where borders of Poland, Czech and Slovakia join.
Unfortunately the one that initiated this decision - Makym got injured and the opportunity for first start of more than one unicyclist in this series was lost up until next season.
The weather was perfect all day sunny with amazing views from the mountians and temperature about 20C which was perfect to ride.
The ride started as usual with quite long strech of paved road, so I got overtook by everybody and I was riding last, thinking that maybe today is the day to be last again. But then climbs started, first paved and I started to see and overtake the bikers. Then we got of the paved road and the fun begun. The route was quite long for Mini version - 24km and there was bit over 900m of climbs and it turned out to be the most exhausting one I’ve attended - this season for sure, but most probably ever as well. But legs were fresh after a 240km bike ride week ago, so I was pushing myself up passing amazed bikers. Of course they passed me on downhills, but not all of them, especially when we got to more rocky or rooty paths. There was also really great singletrack on the way. Not very demanding but the autumn colors were sparkling in the sun so it was magnificent part of the ride.
Everything was so great that something must have failed. Water in my blade finished somewhere halfway through. I didn’t take it full as I thought the temperature would be lower and I should easily get to the buffe on the amount I had. Halfway should be close enough to the buffe, so I felt still quite confident in the ride. I remembered that the biggest peak is on km 14 and then another big one on km 19, so the buffe should be somewhere in between. Usually it was more or less in the middle of the distance. Unfortunately it was not the case. I climbed next and next hills, kilometers were passing and there was no sign of water. I finally decided to eat the fruit squeeze I had with me and drink some magnesium supply, just to have something liquid in my mouth (but my calves started to give cramping warning, so it was not the bad idea anyway).
Finally I found buffet and I started to refill my blade, drink and eat some fruit when somebody passing asked how far is to the finish. And the organizers replied that it is just 1km to the finish of Mini distance. Then I decided not to waste any more time and I started last climb to finish 149th out of 170 classified in the Mini distance. It was much more bearable with the water anyway. At the finish I got some praising from the bikers that finished just before or after me and there was time to rush home as it was more than 2 hours 40 minutes riding and I had to be back home at my friend’s stag party.
I plan no more racing this year and next year hopefully I won’t be alone on the start (and finish) line.
Great job, vookash. It must be a great feeling to pass mountain bikers.
Yes it is. Some were so desperate that they dropped their bikes ![]()
One of our rides this summer, first time visiting this loverly country, it was way to short for a visit. But we had two 20’s with us and did some great rides can’t post to many pictures so they don’t reflect how beautiful it was!!
