New riding buddy Clay drove in all the way from San Diego for one of the most enjoyable 36er beach rides in a long time! The weather couldn’t have been more perfect as we rode through the beautiful beach cities of Sunset, Huntington, Newport, Balboa, and stopping at the world famous “Wedge”, which is home to some of the largest and most treacherous waves anywhere! (No waves today though)
We then savored the ride back for a total of 32 miles. We can’t wait to do this ride again, and we’re planning another one on about 3 weeks. For those who may want to join us for the next one, I’ll post the ride with more advance notice next time.
my weekend with a non unicycler friend:
first we had an uphill hike/ride of 1,5 hours, there the “via ferreta” started, that took us almost 3 hours (about 500vertical meters) with all the gear for the night, cooking and the uni on the back, sunset in the wall, at the end we were on the top of the “sulzfluh” 2817 masl.
there wasn’t any clouds and no wind. we cooked in the dark and had a nice sleep with an amazing sky with tons of stars!
in the morning a hot coffee, a wonderful sunraise and of we were for the downhill!
These pics are making me drool. especially the bike week and the Dead Sea ones. It amazes me how our sport is progressing. ppl are doing some sick stuff. Keep it up!!!
