I finally completed the 1000km today (since July this year). Snowstorm in Hamburg

The green is nice, have not seen green is quite awhile. Excellent tour, thanks for sharing!

I was soooo excited that Sullivan canyon finally reopened today, after being closed for the past 4 months while the gas co. was doing maintenance. I felt like the kid in the back of the station wagon constantly asking, “are we there yet?”, haha! I’d been calling the Gas co. every week asking, “is it open yet!?” They kept delaying the reopen date for whatever reason, mostly due to weather they said.

And even though they bulldozed it again, now like a blank canvas, the rain will transform it yet again. There’s still plenty of carved out areas just off the trail to play on, and a big drop remains at the base of the trail. And with even more concrete mats laid down, it’s like a man-made rock garden, so you get some fun technical riding over them as well!

But today it was officially reopened, and I guess nobody knew about but me! This is such fun, beautiful and peaceful trail, under canopy of countless oak trees, with stream crossings, and because there is no clay at all in the soil, you can ride during or after rain without the your tire getting all clogged up! In fact, I LOVE to ride there in the rain…like it did today! So glad to be back riding one of my all-time favs!
:) :sunglasses:

First decent ride on the KH/Schlumpf today. I met a mate on the bike path by chance, he was testing out his new bike.

Getting rained on:

Slick slate:

Had a very peaceful ride this morning. Only saw a single pair of road bikers on the bike path. They looked at me like I was the sensible one… My wife snapped this on my way out. :sunglasses:

Here’s one more Schlumph hub to look at…

Kris loaned me this one to do the STP ride when mine broke. Put 200 miles on it July 17, 2010.

Crashed the Tucson Parade of Lights on my uni last night. Had a blast - lots of cheering from the crowds. A young lady in a high school marching band wanted to have her picture taken with me. Fun stuff.
