After a week of torrential rain and storms (in the UK anyway) everything is so wet and muddy we did a 14 mile ride along the Grand Union canal - not hard but very pleasant with a good lunch with some canal boat folk in a nice pub.
Sometimes it really doesn’t need to complicated or extreme to have a great day.
Went for a little ride in the forrest today, I had lots of fun and forgot my headache for the time i was riding…because I don’t want to load the pics twice you can see them here
Looks like you had some fun Aina! I wish I had forrest like that.
I really had! You can visit me and than we can make a ride in the forrest;)
btw I wish I would live next to the sea, like you do
The gulf is cool when the waves are up.
And I do think that I shall visit Germany one of these days. It be really nice to check out Europe.
Europe is great! Beside of Norway Germany is one of the greatest countries in my opinion
I’m thinking of going a year to the USA when I finished school and have my ‘Abitur’. One year out before going to a university would be great I think.
Hopefully not my “last ride”
The movers came and took my KH36 last Tuesday (here, it’s bing carried on to the truck). They were just going to wrap it in paper and put it in the truck and I said “Yeah, could you maybe find a box for that? It was kind of expensive. . .”
Swam each day over the last week to help my leg heal. Great to finally get back into some longer rides, today’s was at Twin Bridges. Lots of fun on the Guni!
Another “Drillium” fan I see! Next you should add the LM rim!
Finally … got out for some MUni today on trails near my home. Ghaaaaa … gotta get back into MUni-shape. Legs were weak and flimsy!!!
It was fun and tomorrow I hope to get too again … if time allows…
I decided to go with the good ol’ ubiquitous 'unicycle in tree" theme!!! Seems fad-ish.

yeah the Drilliums are GREAT, have used them for 9 months now, love em!
I’d love to try a LM rim but can’t see it happening for a while, only had the 24" wheel rebuilt a couple of months ago with the geared hub.
What is an LM rim … what are the advantages? I 'preciate knowing.
Thankee
I bet it feels great to be back in the 'ol saddle! Cool pics.
OMG! I didn’t even see the geared hub! I take it back about the LM lol! You got a great set up there.
Well, for me it’s just so amazingly stable and rolls over technical terrain better, imo. Plus it’s so bullet-proof that I haven’t tweaked it yet, even on the biggest drops. It stays true like no other rim I’ve had.
The first time I tried it was on somebody else’s MUni, on about a 5 foot drop. I was having problems landing it with my MUni, which had the drilled KH rim. It just felt unstable on impact, and almost “flimsy”; the psi was optimum for the drop, which even had a sloped roll out.
Then I tried the other rider’s MUni-same KH as mine but with the LM rim. I was able to immediately land the drop, and it just felt so rock solid and smooth throughout the landing and roll out, that I was instantly sold. That was almost 3 years ago and I can’t imagine riding with anything else.
Thanks for that answer Terry. One more ??? … where do you get the LM rim??
I thankee…

The last one I bought came from UDC; had Josh build the wheel with the current nimbus-Isis hub. But you can buy the LM rim from lots of different sources.
Per the Large Marge rim- make sure to get the 24 inch X 36 hole model.
A great and underutilized product.

Great pics!
Had a fun ride today on the 24 Guni in the Black Forest.
I’ve been riding a lot of my favourite trails on the 24 GUni, this was the first time I would’ve preferred a different uni - in this case the single speed 29’er, kind of a relief as I was beginning to think there was no love left for the 29’er!
After 300m (984ft) of vertical climbing on the trails and fire roads of Mt Majura i was greeted by this wonderful sunset (that my camera did absolutely no justice to). Having been riding this loop as often as possible to get my climbing legs for UNICON, today was the first day i managed to string together a series of particularly challenging climbs. By the time i got to the top i was both elated and shagged- this sunset was a perfect reward for slogging it out. If you look carefully you can see Telstra tower perched on top of Black mountain in the background. You know you’ve climbed a lot when your looking down at telstra tower.
