Gonzo, I really want to come up and ride with you some time. I’m sure Dane will be up for it too!
Here are some photos of my Coker ride from yesterday. Its my first Autumn ride through local tracks this year. Nice 9 mile loop in crisp autumn morning through the golden leaves
Today I went for a long guni ride in the woods and found this huge cauliflower mushroom. So I put all the contents of my backpack into pockets of my jacket and pants and stuffed as much of the mushroom as I could into my backpack. That was only about half of it, but it will be good for quite a couple of good meals. And maybe I’ll get the other half later, if it’s still there.
Because I know this particular kind very well and have been eating it frequently without any negative effects.
There is no danger of confusing it with poisonous kinds, at least over here in Europe. I already had some today and it was very tasty. Here’s a wikipedia link, by the way. They say it is even good against tumors.
Those woods really look like some near to where I live in London. I’m not hallucinating am I? I used to do a lot of painting up there and your second photo reminds me a lot of scenes.
After a coker ride around Venice, I drove up to Simi Valley for another round of Hi-tech Muni at both Devil’s slide and Hummingbird trail. I usually don’t ride midday, but I was already close by since I had a call-back for a Commercial.
RIP roaring riding Terry … looking good.
Hope you get the part.
By the way … have you rideden a 29’er much?
Thinking of getting one … may sell the 36’er … more than likely keep it though … just get a bigger hanger.
Shug
Before I got my first 36er, I borrowed a 29er for a group ride at the beach. Everybody else had 36ers, and the KH 29er that I borrowed had 150mm cranks as I recall. I swapped those out for my 137mm trials cranks, and I was able to keep up pretty well for the most part-I was pedaling waaaay faster than the group haha.
But I did like the way the [KH] 29er responded; it’s light and very maneuverable, and the splined cranks/hub are strong enough for medium sized drops. But for long distance, I plan to stay with me 36er!
OK, so this isn’t my latest ride, but I just got the pic scanned so that I can post it. Back at the beginning of July I took a mental health day and went for a ride up on the Siskiyou Crest. By dumb luck a columnist and a photographer were driving around looking for material for an article about the proposed Siskiyou National Monument. I know nothing about the proposed monument but that didn’t stop them from taking my picture, interviewing me and sticking me on the front page of the Medford daily paper.
