What says that sticker in the second to last picture?
It reads “Wichtige Wahlsache”. Nothing to do with unicycling, I’d say. I think it’s a sticker that one could have on letters regarding (postal) voting - something like “Important voting matter”…
For instance, the last elections in Germany didn’t have much preparation time, so those stickers were put onto the envelopes in some areas to give them priority.
Natural monument: It may not be rebuilt or demolished. This is intended to preserve nature. The sticker on the unicycle says: Important Election Matter. I once voted by mail because I didn’t have time or something, but I did years ago.
What length cranks are you using? I’ve been reducing mine on my 29, started on 150, then 137, today I put on 127mm. I’ll stick with them for a while before I try 110’s, but yours look shorter still.
Thanks, Felgenbremse and @martin. Couldn’t quite read it. Should read “richtige Wahl”, after all unicycling is a good choice, isn’t it? ![]()
YES !!! The Choice is a good to ride the 24" Muni. I love this Wheel for riding Muni because it is small and you’re fast enough with 127mm Cranks and I love my Magura HS33 Rim Brake. I also have a 26" with the disc and I don’t like the brake because the Power of the brake is really bad for me. The Rim Brake is very easy to managend it on the Trail and also in Steep sections. My 29" Muni with the old Tritan Frame is also running with the Magura HS 33 Rim Brake. Some People looking for my Unicycle and ask: “Why you don’t ride a disc Brake on this beautiful Unicycle?”. I said to them: “It’s easier then a disc brake for me and I love this SetUp.”
Those are 75 mm which are supprisingly fast (20+ kmh average). The top speed is slightly lower than the 36" but the average is about the same.
@Felgenbremse you have a picture of your 24" muni? I’ve also been thinking of getting a 24" muni. Currently have the road version. Initially I had expected it would be as slow as a 20", but it was actually doing quite ok.
sounds like a post for the Bragging thread. Well done. and I reckon you don’t ride with 150mm ![]()
Yes I have.
This Muni is a quax Muni.
Yellow Hub with 48 Holes
Normaly Black Spokes but I change them because I’ve problems with the Nippel and last year I build it new with blue Oilslick spokes, it looks very cool.
The Ftame was a Quax Steehl frame but I change it to the old KH raw ftame in 2018. Cranks it is the 8th version. Quax 145 mm cranks but i ride this cranks 3 months, this was not good that was the second Crank in 10 days it was broken. I look for a Nimbus 150mm crank. Was good but the Aluminium was bad and 1 Year was one Crank or 6 Months. Also not my Way. So i want to go shorter and now i ride the qx series 127mm cranks and it’s good. The T-Bar i made this by my own. It works great for me. The Brakes are the 4th. 2 broken brake Lever and now i’ve a good one but the old Brake lever was broken after 4 years of use. I ride the black/red brake pads and it works better than the only black one. That’s the story from my lovely 24" Muni. This Christmas we are 10 yeats together or the Muni found me. I don’t like muni with the disc brakes, i don’t know how all the people ride this and they all told me it’s good and better than my oldschool rim brake.
How do you break so many cranks? You must do some insane drops and jumps.
The problem was that it was very soft aluminum, and the pedal was made of steel. The pedal had eaten into the crank, so the thread in the crank was no longer there, and the pedal fell off. The QX Series cranks have a steel threaded insert that can’t break, and a washer helps prevent this, which I also use between the crank and Pedal. I don’t do big jumps with the Unicycle. And the 4th pedal in 9,5 Years.
Since nobody asked, what does the hippo have to do with your uni? Is it your good-luck charm?
Yes, it’s a lucky charm. He, Mobby, usually comes with me when I go on a longer tour, and when I go unicycling in the gym, a rhino comes along.
So while the rest of Cranky Crew were doing their insane Easter
(on a 36"/114mm, a 29"/80mm with defective brakes and a 29"/75mm with no brakes at all!) I’ve been playing around with a 20". This is to much fun really!
And it looks really cool with my Coker handlebars.
Maybe I should start unipacking on this machine
I am actually heading to pick up a sleeping hammock and some camping gear right now.
Light Muni on a 20" is actually a fun challenge. Every rock is an obstacle that must be dealt with! And the 80 mm cranks (that I manage to salvage from the sole survivor of the crazy cranky expedition) makes things even more interresting. It is very satisfying to push through with virtually no UPDs!
The handlebars are really useful when going fast on such a small wheel actually. Keeps things stable!
Some people (myself excluded) would actually argue that it looks crap because it’s missing two bLoody stickeRs…
I think it would look better if the handlebars were given a paint job. Red loke the hub, or yellow like the tire and letters.
I really have to reconsider my unipacking setup. Resting the package on my handlebars actually worked surprisingly well. It was kinda like a weird two hand grip on my handlebars. …until a speed bump came and I had to lift the package up to see exactly when i would hit it ![]()
Maybe I should paint one handle Red and one bLue, and each glove the matching color! This way I won’t get confused.
