So long as you do not use the 150s, this is acceptable

150’s are the best all-round size. No need for longer or shorter :stuck_out_tongue:

…except maybe on 12-16“.

150s are ridiculously long for any wheel 36 inches in size or smaller

150s on a 16" was fun :joy: And I will try it on the 12" soon as well.

On the 12”, the 150mm cranks should almost let your pedals touch on each revolution, and basically “walk” the unicycle, right?

I think you‘re right. He should try 165s as well. Should be even more interesting

This was almost the case for the 16". With a 12" the actual center of the pedal hole will be at the outer rim of the tire, so the crank will stick out indeed, and the pedal even more.

I have something even more interresting in mind than that, next time I swap a hub.

170mm on a tightrope so that they can stick out below the wheel?

That would be the slowest ride ever :joy:

It can work if not wet. There is a lot of volume in that, just let out some air.

Hah, yeah I actually considered taking the Torker instead, but no I meant my “road machine”

Now you really have my attention.

I completed my first 30+ mile ride today  Here are some highlights

The main part of it is a 20 mile loop around my local town that includes sections of a few different bike trails. Plenty of intersections, crosswalks, and less-than-ideal stretches of pavement mean it probably wouldn’t be a perfect candidate for more than a lap or two of riding, but it makes for an interesting ride nonetheless. I felt pretty good after completing the loop, so I figured I could squeeze in an extra 10 miles to break my record of 26 miles. :cowboy_hat_face:

Another focus of my ride was managing my speed and staying on top of my fueling. By the end of my first 20+ mile ride, I felt wrecked. On the flats I reminded myself to keep it in the 9-11 mph range, and I had a granola bar every 45 mins or so. Sitting here after the ride, I feel like I’ve fared much better compared to my previous long rides. :slightly_smiling_face: Maybe I’ll have to push my record to 40 miles sometime

A more humble ride yesterday:

20km on the bike path across a swamp natural reservation. It dusted off the cobwebs on the

36 for sure and was long enough to point out all that needed adjustments…
