I managed to fit a Coker and my g29 in the back of my Smart Car. I wish I could find the photo.
Wow, I wish you could too.
Corbin welded a frame he could bolt to the back and if I remember correctly leave room for a passanger. Here’s a pic but different angle from the one I saw.
i think you woke up before you took the picture.
Win.
+1
The roof of my Smart car came off…and I still couldn’t get a 36er in it
Photo to prove it wasn’t a dream
This does highlight the issue of just how much you can ‘legally’ carry with different modes of transport. Here in the UK it may be legally deemed dangerous to carry a large ‘overhang’ on a motorcycle. More significantly are the sharp bits of the uni that could cause injury in an accident. Just a point of view.
I haven’t seen a convertible Smartcar in the USA yet. Pretty cool.
I would never carry my bikes or uni’s on the back of the vehicle either. Only on the roof or inside. I only carry liability insurance on my old crap cars and there are tooooo many uninsured drivers waiting to smash my toys. I know they’re not legal…blah blah blah. I’d still end up paying for them. Can’t get blood from a turnip as they say.
An unexpected benefit of having aerobars on my KH36 - it can span the roof racks on my car.
It’s not pretty… but is easy loading and secure.
I lay my seats down in my Civic and it fits just fine.
Same for me in my Dacia Sandero. Not a big car, but the 36 perfectly fits, even with its aerobars. It’s better than having it outside the car: it uses less fuel.
Yes, the compactness of a unicycle is such an advantage in so many situations.
I prefer to put the back seat down and travel with the 36" wheel c/w aerobars inside the car too… except when wife, kids and dog disagree.
I used to have a smart car, but not a soft top and I could fit mine in. I can not remember if I put the front seat down to do it or did it with the frame off.
Nice 36ers love it
