1. Started riding in 1980 (age 13.5); bought my first unicycle, a Schwinn 20", with the last of my bar mitzvah money.
2. Founded the New York Unicycle Club along with Joe Merrill and my brother, John, back in early January 2001. It’s still meeting twice a month (first Saturday, third Sunday of each month).
3. All three of my kids learned to ride.
4. I’ve owned as many as 20 unicycles at a time (including my kids’ unis); these days I only have about 6, some of which are ‘in the shop’.
5. I participated in Ride the Lobster in 2008; my team came in 10th.
6. I mainly ride around NYC’s Central Park bike loop – maybe 50 miles a week.
