i cant belive i have to defend KH moments. Unbelievable
and i realize its a begginer issue, but theres always a million excuses “not” to do something.
Its like buying those cheap shirts that are 2 for 1!, but then you get home and the buttons fall off, and then your pissed off, because you should of bought the one really good shirt for not that much more…
the main point here, is the opitons there. For a lot cheaper then what you could normally get them for, so no matter what you would be saving money on better equipment.
and from personal experience, this hub and crank set up kicks ass. And for $50 more, you could have a virutally indestructable unicycle for a new rider.
im giving this advice, not just from my experience, but because i know there would be no regrets.
so take it or leave it, i stand by my point.
also, if he does get out of it, then hes going to have a better chance of selling something with moments on it then UDC isis.
I mean I agree that they might end up NEEDING them. But probably about 75% of the rider will keep riding and will want higher quality cranks. If it was 100$ more I would agree that they might want to wait and see…but for 50 bucks more they might as well invest and get a nicer pair of cranks.
I think we all have to remember how brutal all beginners are on cranks. Your first drop, despite being small you land with a huge amount of force. Beyond that KH cranks are an extra 50 bucks now, later they are 77. I can promise you if you continue riding your going to need new cranks.
I have taught over 300+ people how to ride a unicycle, and I have noticed that anyone who has a good completely strong unicycle will ride more confidently and for longer, go bigger and just generally have a more enjoyable time. Honestly if you can afford the KH cranks go for it! They are SOO worth it, the cranks they come with are very very weak and will break sooner rather then later.
The better the uni the better the newbie feels and the better he feels the better he will eventually become. beyond that 50 bucks… your already putting in 250, you might as well put in an extra 50 bucks and get something that will last you for a LONG time. it sucks to break things, since the crank is such a vital part you might as well get a good set now rather then having to pay more and shipping later.
I think if you know you are going to want to start jumping around and getting into it, you may aswell just do it at first, because you will save like $35.
WEll!, i got My Nimbus Quite a while ago, I will NOT post it yet until i get new pedals and a tire. I dislike the CC. no offence. but, its ok for some people.
Ill post it in about a couple weeks.
CIAO
Jkohse makes a good piont though I have friends that are buying all new unis now because the parts are no longer up to par for their riding. So spend now save later.
