Second, as for next yearās CMW I would vote for either Santa Barbara or the LA area (Simi Valley and/or all the other sweet places to ride out here). Iād be more than willing to help out with organizing but as Iāve never really hosted an event, I would of course need help and guidance. Iām sure weāll probably talk about it during our rides and such up in Santa Cruz. See yaāll there in a few days!

Sorry everyone, I have to scratch. PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: Are your shoelaces under control? In these days of lots of Cokering, a shoelace wrapped around your pedal is a lot worse than it was in the past. Though the heavier wheel will hopefully break it before you get flung to the ground, this is not always the case.
I was riding back from my class yesterday, trying out my fresh setup with 150mm cranks for MUni Weekend and lowered seat, when it happened. I think my shoe mustāve come untied, and it wrapped up, and I was flung to the pavement. Fractured clavicle (collar bone) Ouch! My first-ever broken bone. Iāve been riding unicycles almost 28 years now too. Damn.

Sorry to be picky, but one webpage lists 1:00pm and another page lists 2:00pm for the start of Fridayās muni ride. Which is it? I could show up at the early time I suppose, but Iād rather not stand around waiting if the rideās not really until 2.

That sucks John about your injury. How long is the recovery time? Thanks for helping organizing this years even though you canāt even make it. I wish you a fast and speedy recover. BTW-Whatās with all the injuries lately (2 broken backs, collar bone, torn acl, etc.)? Iāll try and take some extra photos for you!

Sorry, John, but Iām in the same boat. Was doing a training run for CMW last Sat. and totally blew up my ankle. Itās like twice normal size and hasnāt gone down much in four days so Iām out. Bummer because Iād been looking foward to the event for two months. I trust everyone will have a blast.

This reminds me of when I was riding my 12 foot uni in a parade one year and started to feel my shoelace getting tighter and tighter. Luckily I was able to stop, ride backwards and unravel it before falling. Then I went to a nearby branch and tucked it in as best as I could. That would have really sucked coming down from there!
