Alternative brake rotors for Schlumpf gen. 5

Ok for me.

I will talk to Hope either today or tomorrow and sort out a Purchase Order for them. Once I get the price from them and from the machine company (chamfering holes) I can give you a price.

I will put it up as a product on our website. It can deal with shipping to Europe without you having to pay duty and taxes on delivery. So that should be the best way to deal with this.

I should also be able to give you an eta on delivery.

Thank you so much to everyone involved with developing the concept of this disc to this tangible stage - where I can order one.

I’m confirming my order.
I’m in Sydney, Australia and also interested the arrangement for payment and shipping.

Count me in for a 203mm disc. Thanks to @mindbalance and @Maxence, I already have a good 203mm disc, but I’m willing to take one to support the project (and it might come in useful later).

@rogeratunicycledotcom , I hope I’m not late to the party, but put my name down for 1. Are you ordering extras? I may need 2, but I need to hear back from the rider first

Heck, I take one.

That is good, I was ordering a few extra anyway. I have not been able to get hold of the contact at Hope, I will push it today.

Can I confirm that Disk_4.stp is the version we are wanting to be produced?

This looks great!
Has someone sent a Schlumpf hub to Hope so that they could produce a prototype rotor to ensure Finn’s design works fine before cutting all the rotors?

Not as far as I know and we sold our last one about a month ago, so we have none spare.

If the dimensions are correct, then there is no problem. Before I place the order, I will double check dimensions against the schlumpf disc (which we do have). @finnspin can you output me the profile sketch as a 2D DXF file and send it to me to do a final check?

Sure. I’m probably too cautious after the BrakeFast fiasco
If you feel like this will be fine after having double checked the dimensions, then let’s make this project go alive :rocket:

@Maxence , @rogeratunicycledotcom I have a spare Schlumpf disk I wouldn’t mind sending out to HopeTech, but I’m sure someone in Europe has one aswell.

I can (and probably will) send Hope a Schlumpf Disc. It is best to be safe with this.

I just sent you the file per e-mail to contact@unicycle.co.uk . I can confirm that the “disk4.stp” version, which is the one I sent you is the best I have to offer

Count me in for one 203mm disc as well.

Actually, now that I’m hearing that these new discs are supposed to be significantly better than the factory discs, I’d like to increase my order to two 203mm discs, if possible.

Thanks!

Good choice for your new Schlumpf build. I regret not ordering a BrakeStuff rotor before he stopped accepting orders. The Schlumpf rotors really aren’t up to snuff. I have full confidence the Hope rotors will be great due to their good reputation.
