UPDATED

I have too many unicycles, Here is the list with prices and why I got them:

Trainer 24 (NOK 1 300)

UDC Sweden recomended this as an adult learner - collecting dust now.

Qu-Ax Cross 29 (NOK 2 000)

Felt I needed something between 24 and 36 (wich was my ultimate goal). I later chopped down the frame to make it fit my oldest kid. Collecting dust now, but my youngest kid might need it in a couple of years.

Nimbus Nightrider Impulse Disc 36 (NOK 6 000)

36’er was my reason to get into unicyling. This was the coolest one on the market in my opinion. Still my main 36’er.

KH 26 (NOK 4000)

Maybe try Muni? Yes, let’s get a KH26. Timoteusmunk uses it when he is visiting Norway. Otherwise collecting dust.

UPDATE: KH 26 is missing more and more pieces. I still count it as one unicycle.

Schlumpf hub (NOK 10 000)

I really wanted to try this, and it would also be great to get to my trail head on a schlumped KH26. Collecting dust now, but I might put it in a 29’er later.

UPDATE: In use in a 29 guni

KH 29 (NOK 4 000)

For winter riding with a studded tyre. Wanted something better than the Qu-Ax even though the Qu-Ax was just fine. I use it mainly in the winter.

Dodger 12 (NOK 900)

Got it for my oldest kid, but none of my kids managed to learn to ride on this one. I got a few videos out of it. Fun to ride.

Only One 16 (NOK 700)

Both kids learned on this. Easier to ride than the Dodger. Other kids use it from time to time.

KH 20 (NOK 3 500)

Wanted something I could bring with me on holidays. The kids use it too. (I have two sets with seatposts/seats)

Oracle 24 (NOK 4 000)

Wanted a smaller wheel and a wider tyre for muni than the KH26. Collecting dust, but it’s back up for the bigger 26’er brother
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NwQ3x53plIQ)

UPDATE: Bulit a freewheel for the O24, so this is now my freewheel unicycle
(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGXwDENeep8)

KH 36 (NOK 3 200)

I’ve had som problems with the Nimbus 36, and therfore needed a back up. Hate being without a 36’er. Got the KH for a great price. Timoteusmunk uses it too.

Oracle 26 (NOK 4 000)

I like the Oracle 24, but wanted something bigger. Put on a Surly Knard . Great uni.

Unknown 20 (NOK 150)

Second hand. Got this for my youngest kid. Painted it purple and put on a pink tyre. She loves it.

Nimbus Hatchet fat 26 (NOK 9 000)

Couldn’t resist. No dust, only mud on this one.

Total: NOK 52 750 (prices are from memory)

I have also bought two more unicycles as gifts to my nephews, which means I have bought 15 unicyles in six years.

The list continues:

Qu-Ax 20 -red hub (NOK 600)

I needed another 20" for my youngest kid, so we can all go muni together. Second hand.

KH 20 (NOK 300)

Second hand. Picked it up today. Older model, scratched but otherwise in good condition. Saddle, seatclamp, pedals not original. The reason for buying this was the price: $ 35

UPDATE:

Unknown 20 (NOK 100)

Second hand. Crap. Used it in a video:

KH 29 Schlumpf

Wanted to try a geared unicycle again. Built it myself. Mostly KH parts.

Nimbus Oracle 32

I ordered it one hour ago for the kids. To good a deal to let it pass. (51% off on Black Friday)

Updated list November 2017
19" Trials
20" Nimbus
20" Only One that I used to learn unicycling on.
26" KH
26" Hatchet
29" Nimbus Oracle - my most fave uni.
32" Nimbus Oracle
36" Nimbus Nightrider

Sold my schlumpf as it feels too weird to ride and couldn’t get the hang of it.

Yeah I reckon that is equally important to mention. Just having lots of unis and not riding them means that you can get more space in the shed. I only don’t ride my OnlyOne uni anymore, but it is very small and I’m hoping my daughter will at one time be interested in learning to ride. The Freestyle 20" I then ride the least. The other six I ride on a regular basis.

…are a collector
…really like to get big parcels from UDC delivered at your door
…are insane

It can mean a lot of things.

True enough. I think it is a waste of money not using them, since they ain’t cheap. I don’t buy used ones.

Updating my list as I just got a Nimbus 32" at the Black Friday price. Also, I sold my freestyle 20" because it’s not something I was going to get into. And the Schlumpf graduated to the 29" wheel. So currently:

 • KH 24" 2012 with 137mm cranks, disc brake,
 • KH 29" Road Uni with 125mm cranks with a first gen Schlumpf hub and Magura brakes,
 • Nimbus "Black Friday" Oracle 32" with 125mm cranks, disc brake,
 • QU'AX 36" with 125/150mm cranks, disc brake,
 • Nimbus 24" Basketball Uni with 110mm cranks,
 • FranKHenstein 29" Muni with Nimbus hub, Impact Seat post and 125mm cranks, US resident,
 • 24" Muni with 150mm cranks (shared with above muni) made from parts I had, just bought a Nimbus rim and a Specialized tire.

and past:

 • Nimbus 20" Equinox Freestyle Uni with 100mm cranks, sold because I was not really using it much,
 • Nimbus II 24" Muni with 150mm cranks, back in the saddle uni! Bought in 2011 in the same shop as NoName below, sold when KH24" came for Xmas,
 • Kahero 20" basic uni, bought to work on beginner's skills, sold a couple of months later when bought Nimbus 20",
 • Impact 19" Trials, 140mm Eiffel cranks, sold because gathering dust, running out of space, and needing an excuse to finance the Schlumpf hub,
 • NoName Chrome Shitty 20", bought in 1996, first attempt at uni, rode but never proficiently, disappeared in a garage fire circa 2000.

Future?

 • Spare (bin parts?) Muni for the Alps, at the parents...

i have a medium sized unicycle that im OK on driving. sometimes on not so crowded streets i will cruise down and people will be mirin and some girls will yell. ive banged some chicks but the only problem is i cant give them a ride so i make them ride in my car:)

Revised and streamlined fleet since my previous post.

20" Nimbus 2 unicycle. That’s the one with the chromed steel H crown frame, red anodised wheel, and Viscount saddle. It still has the Hookworm tyre on it, which I regret buying. I used to perform on it but seldom use it now.

24" Nimbus 1 (same as above but with the inverted-Y-crown) and with a Hookworm which is marginally better in this size. Strictly, this uni belongs to a friend who seldom rides now. I virtually never ride it.

KH24, a good few years old with the old-style splined cranks. No handle or brake, just a robust tractor of a unicycle for when I want to get down and dirty in the mud.

28 inch custom made wheel on a basic Nimbus steel frame. I have put a fatter tyre on it (32 mm, from memory) and 114 mm cranks. This one has a classic Miyata saddle which is still the most comfortable saddle I’ve used, although somewhat flimsy. Good for very easy cross country and cycle paths and roads.

KH29 with a Nimbus handle seat base but currently running with no handle. No brake. Just a good general purpose cross country unicycle with some road capability.

KH36 with a T bar and bar ends, no brake, currently with the dual hole cranks on the shorter setting. My general purpose road and cross country uni.

Nimbus 24 Ultimate wheel: my second one, this one having the hexagonal spoke arrangement. (My first one broke.)

Also in the garage, three 2 wheelers:

A Pearson lightweight fixie.

A Giant Anyroad semi-cyclocross style bike. (Too heavy and robust for competition, but no suspension or other gimmicks.)

Moto Guzzi V7ii Stone motorcycle.

Then there’s
Cornish Cormorant 12’ lugsail dinghy
Zodiac Cadet 310 + outboard
2 Feel Free kayaks

Too many. Here are a few:

 • OGK 20" (Japan). All pink, with pink mag wheel and a built-in kickstand
 • Loyd unicycle from the 1960's (eBay). Precursor to the Schwinn
 • 24" Oxford (Japan), assembled from parts in Bill Jenack's garage and attic after he passed away in 1982
 • 12" "T.E.M" (Tom Miller's initials; just before he started calling it "TUF" for The Unicycle Factory). I cut down the frame and post when too many of my friends were able to ride it. :-)
 • 45" Big Wheel from Tom Miller, 1982
 • Chris Reeder Trials uni, 2001. This is an "upgraded" basic Tiawanese uni with a Monty Trials tire and wide rim, a couple of nuts (the kind to use with bolts) welded to the tubular crown for one-footing, A gussetted seat post, and a carbon fiber Miyata base with Roach seat cover on it (no Reeder handle)
 • 26" Carbon Fiber Muni by Roger Davies, 1998. Unforunately doesn't fit wide tires :(
 • 16" Troxel from the early 70s; the P.O.S. I learned on. Hard plastic tire, tricycle cranks & pedals, nylon bushings instead of bearings
 • 24" Miyata from 1978; possibly a pre-production one; was sent to Bill Jenack in that year to promote the brand in the US. Cottered cranks!
 • Nimbus Trials uni, circa 2010, that I've almost never used :(
And about 35 others, some of which are in the form of parts in boxes and/or bare wheels hanging from the ceiling. Like my 1981 "Excessory Cycle", made from a 24" Schwinn with a ridiculous amount of typical bike accessories from that time period. :)

a and c in that list are kind of the same thing.

Jeez 40+ unis. My wife already complains I have just 9. If it was up to her she would sell the lot of them, maybe letting me keep one. Not that that would happen of course.

I’m just a beginner:

20" unknown used to learn for 2 months than cutted seatpost and frame for a 5 y.o. child… never used again except for the wheel (tried as an ultimate wheel twice)

12" Q-Ax for the same child grown to 6 y.o. (never used again, waiting for the newborn to grow up)

26+" Huni-rex still planning to mod it to a pedal assisted uni

29" KH 2017 I’m using it while Huni-rex is under modding

29" KH 2005 Bought for my wife, (never used by her once, usde by my 2 times). It’s on sale, but probably I’m going to buy a freewheel hub to keep it…

It seems impossible to sell a unicycle… probably I’m going to spend other money!

I have just 4 of them.
My wife luckily has no problems with my „collection“. I just add up the new clothes and shoes she buys and keep an approximate running total I state every now and then. When it’s time to get a new uni - no objections from her.

Actually, she started this all with a Qu-Ax 20“ for my 47th birthday. The KH27.5 was her idea, as was the Nimbus. The KH20 I argued for, so I could accompany her on her jogging tours.
The running total stated above is an argument for a gift for my 50th birthday (see below)

See that last time I posted to this thread was last year. My latest list is this one :

19" Nimbus Trials
20" Nimbus Freestyle
20" Freewheel
20" OnlyOne (my first)
26" KH Muni
26" Hatchet
28" UW
29" Nimbus
32" Nimbus
36" Nimbus

So 10 unis. Maybe in the future might still get a 24". For now I have enough fun with what I have, especially the UW, which I got for my bday today (ok couldn’t wait and bought it already 2-3 weeks ago)

Happy birthday!
