Custom Qu-Ax unicycles

He was implying that your uni looks like a taxi, haha.

That’s one sexy uni.

Ahh, okay :).

Well…taxi or not, it still looks better than yours Brian.

Not even close. Too much yellow.

I like mine with the blue and yellow.

This isn’t all that custom, but it’s most likely the only one in the US. I’ve had it for awhile but just now got the right size cranks for it.

Qu-Ax Light ISIS Cross 24x3 muni, with the black CroMo ISIS cranks that are on the trials/muni models (yellow hub with ISIS) in 170 mm.
Will probably swap the pedals eventually, but they suit me fine for right now.

This thing is a tank, but it’s also reallly light. I think the whole thing weighs under 16 pounds.

It’s got the light ISIS hub, which is pretty strong from what I’ve heard. I’ll be testing it over the summer to see how well it holds up. I expect it to do pretty well.

Closeup of the ISIS cranks (look ma! No nubs!) and bearing mounts:

Aluminum frame, light but beefy:

No action shots yet, but I’ll be taking this beast to Moab MF in a couple weeks.

Wow, thats beast Forrest…Post a pic of your trials.

I will in a week or two, when I get the new rim put on it.

I’m replacing the old “BX-38” with the new wider “DB-45” rim.

Ohh thats awesome, I wanted to do that, when I had my Quax.

Did you get that CF base put on then Forrest?

Isaac

I have that exacty same uni also the Cross 24/3".also not custom though.but mine weigh 9kg

Only just found this thread.

Mine started out with the QuAx aluminium frame, QuAx splined hub & cranks, DB45 rim, Gusset Full Throttle grind pedals, Maxxis CC, Shadow Alfred clamp, Nimbus CrMo post, and a nimbus seat.

It is now this:

QuAx aluminium frame, Profile hub & cranks, Viz rim, plastic Animal Hamiltons, shaved Try All sticky tyre, 3 shadow Alfred clamps, Nimbus CrMo post, and a KH Fusion Street seat.

Seat, clamps, post and frame will be changed in the near future.

Nice looking uni, I’m kinda jealous.

Cheers.

Got a CF base on the way, along with a new seat cover. When money allows it, I’ll be ordering a KH double crown frame, a new post and a new clamp.

Yah. I think I may be getting a whole new KH soon as I’ve messed up my hub and rim and am kinda wanting a new unicycle. I’m also thinking about getting a cf base with it, but I think that may be a little bit out of my price range.

Cool. Lol, that doesn’t sound like a healthy uni.

just put together

Some of you might recognize this from the for sale trade forum, I had it posted until my wife said she might like it. Even though its technically hers I still get to pick the parts and put it together, as well as ride it once and a while I’m sure.

I dont worry to much about matching colors, I just buy what i can afford/find/works and live with the color it comes in. Most my stuff ends up looking like a rainbow thru-up on it.

Despite the mismatching colors that is still a sick looking uni!

Why do all the quax trials frames have brake mounts? I mean who rides with brakes on their trials anyway?

I was thinking about that exact thing earlier today when I was riding mine. Then, I started thinking of weird flat/freestyle tricks you could do with a setup like that. Interesting…
