Your Uni at work

This pic speaks volumes. I was a bit baffled by the official start of this thread. I visited it thinking it had more to do with the idea of commuting to work rather than sad pics of idle uniā€™s in an alien enviroment. So I say Ride to work and work to Ride my friends.

Very cool . Much more interesting than an idle uni in a sad cubicle next to a stack of papers. Granted not everyone can ride around their workplace ā€˜even if they play a key role thereā€™ but come on people. Letā€™s get back to what makes a unicyclist a unicyclist. I donā€™t give a crap about your shower at work or any identity you try to convey other than that of a uncyclist. Pics or stories related to the RIDE to and home from work or in this lucky fellowā€™s situation, ridinā€™ at work, would be more ideal for those of us who donā€™t rely on our jobs for our identities. Yup Yup.:stuck_out_tongue:

Rockin on the clock:) nice.

Well said. The creator of this thread should take heed, we will not conform. We will be free regardless of our sad cubicles or dismal industrial enviroments. Free yourself but if you canā€™t, please donā€™t imprison and immortalize through image the innocent unicycle. Someone needed to be the voice for the unicycle. This thread can thrive in the right hands. I look forward to an inspired direction with no thanks to the creator of this thread.

Ride on, ride on, hereā€™s my conribution to this (uni at 1:12).

Greetings

Byc

Hey,

here is my contribution (now that I remembered to take a pic and found a coworker with a smartphone :p).

For sure, it is not as nice as the ride to work and definitely far from the usual muni bliss. However, having my loyal uni with me at work always bring me a smile and when I am looking outside (I have a cubicle with view), there is the two of us dreaming to be out there

Hell Yeah. Iā€™m putting this tune on my mp3 and goin for a ride with a screw it all, just be me attitude. Thanks for showing LIFE exists beyond the 4 wallls that always try to contain us. Thanks, this made my day.

I have to say, Well said. Atleast you brought some warm insight to the relationship we for have with our uniā€™s. Thanks for sharing.

Finally remembered to take a pic of my uni at work. Have about 160 miles logged so far this year.
Mounted a dynamo a few weeks ago. Works great. Should have done that a long time ago. I had several light failures this year. With the dynamo there is always a back up. This summer i want to get the E-Werk power charger.

Photo wonā€™t upload. Iā€™ll try when I get home.

Here is the pic. It uploaded after shrinking it.

Is that an airport? I would love to be taking off and see a guy on a 36er chasing the plane down the runway.

Yup. Itā€™s an airport. (SEA-TAC). I used to ride through the bagwell. Got chased and threatened by airport security. Airport rules ban all personal vehicles in the bagwells. It used to say no bicycles. The rules now cover everything. Some of my colleagues used to skate board through there. At night when I come to work Iā€™ll ride down the bag claim sidewalk outside the terminal.

Itā€™s been nice enough to ride in a few times the last couple of weeks.

I have a new neighbor in my cubicle: my new trial uni

Very useful to have a ride with a coworker that is learning to ride after lunch or just play around the parking lot to improve my jumps/drops/sif/you-name-it.

And the days I commute with my 29er, I have almost a bi-cycle sitting in my cubicle

Riding AT Work.

This was taken a year ago during the last week of school. I have dreams of riding the 26" TO work. That would be something! You guys riding 29ers and 36ers are so awesome!

That is such a cool uni! I love all the bells and whistles it has

No lock :astonished:

Thatā€™s an expensive risk on that uni.
(Unfortunately w/ most unis, including yourā€™s, thereā€™s no way of locking completely)

I bring mine in with me :stuck_out_tongue:

It was built up slowly over the past few years. The winter commute here is very wet and dark.

Donā€™t have a lock. Havenā€™t found a secure one that is light. My commute pack gets quite heavy at times. The record weight was 40 pounds. That weight is rough on everything. The few times Iā€™ve ridden it to the store I took it in with me. I need to find a good lock though. The uni is covered on my house insurance. Iā€™d prefer not to test the claims process. I use vigilance when I have to leave it unattended. So far the only time itā€™s left unattended is at work.
