PS I didn’t mean that theres anything wrong with 20 inch wheels (I have one) but just for pure speed 24s are cool

I think for street unicycling to become anything like bmx or skateboarding, everybody would have to use 24" wheels and be a lot smoother

Sure, why don’t we ride unicycles that aren’t fit for our riding style so we can look more like skateboarders?

Or maybe we could use 29ers for street. That would have even more smoother. I wanna see someone grind down a stair set on a 29er that would be awesome. But seriously I don’t think we should change just so we can look more like skateboarders like forrest said.

Yes! But only if there was a serious federation represented in each country to guide the unicycling sport.

Because Unicycling is waaaaaay to cool for X-Games!

That is so true and BTW onewheelinwierdo i like your avatar. :stuck_out_tongue:  Also it wouldn’t make unicycling unique anymore.

If you make them fit your riding style, you’ll be able to go nice and fast and eventually clear bigger shit and look cooler doing it.* And that’s basically what all these tricks are about, expressing oneself and looking cool/stylely/skilled/ect.

Riding a 24 isn’t going to make you look more like a skateboarder… probably less. I’m not the one taking trick and stance names from skating.

*Well I’m not sure here, but it would be neat to try at least

I don’t see reason for that. BMX riders use 20" wheels and skateboarders usually use 50-57 mm wheels. Fat 20" tyre is cooler than fat 24". I think that 16" could be nice, but there isn’t many fat tyres for that.

Yeah, except BMX bikes and skateboards go fast. It’s not about getting the wheelsize to be more like other sports, it’s the speed. Comparing the wheelsize of a skateboard to a unicycle is retarded

I don’t want unicycling to become BMX, I just said if you want to be just like the other 100 sports that involve jumping over stairs doing tricks, then learning to do it on a 24 inch wheel might help in the end.

I can’t see unicycling ever becoming like the other sports, just because of the lack of speed. BC however is a different matter, I can see a time where BC riders ride in skate parks like BMXers etc. and pump the big ramps.

If we put those KH guni hubs on we’ll be able to go faster on a 19" wheel

I hate clowns!

or not, once you start hitting about 8 feet you have major problems w/ the rollout on the 24, but on a 20 it is much less problematic.

yeah, and wear the tires out 50 times faster.

I think unicycling is too small for the x-games. I think it is no less extreme or dangerous than BMX or skateboarding, but it just doesn’t look good to the untrained eye for the most part. Also I think people like watching sports that they play. There are very few unicylist as compared to skateboarders/BMXers, so not many people would want to watch it.

It would be cool to see Dan Heaton and Shaun Johanneson and Xavier Collos on TV riding in a street competition, but I honestly don’t think it will ever happen. It might ruin unicycling as a sport too if it was on tv, but I don’t think enough people would commit enough time to learning to make “posers.” I like unicycling as a small sport, it’s something different. If it was big like skateboarding, it would be everyday run-of-the-mill to see someone riding down the street on a unicycle, and I think that would kinda suck.

Edit: Wow, I think that was the longest post I’ve ever made…

( only read the first page)

I didn’t see this once, maybe it was mentions. NO ONE is that accurate enough. If the skate area was changed up a bit. Hell yeah I bet anyone being perfect with any trick they try (a good amount of flips spins and twist) They could get anyone into the action why not? Roll pop some high manny, 3 or 5 off, fakie flip. All being smooth and perfect. I don’t bet that if a run was as perfect as those bmxers get it, unicycling could be in the X-games, it would be alot better than i bet a lot people would guess. The skill is no where near consistent enough though. As well as the place would have to be changed around. Before I go out to FLUCK I will be practicing consistency not more big stuff, just all consistence. I want only one or two falls in the run I try.
