Why isn’t unicycling an X-games sport?! That would be awesome… imagine how many more people would be riding if they saw Xav or Dan Heaton in the X-games!
im too lazy to find the thread with the exact same topic, but if it was it wouldnt be unique anymore
Two good points… probably should have searched that… and yeah, I agree, haha, I’m not that good and people compare me to Tony Hawk. It would definitely loose the uniqueness.
i’d vote mostly that lack of speed and the lack of anything huge. not that say some of the good street guys gapping 10 sets or grinding 15 or whatever isn’t huge, but compared to the speed and huge-ness of bmx, or skateboarding, or inline, or hell, anything that is in the x-games, unicycling is small, slow, and unless you do it, boring to watch.
Accually, they took that out like 3 years ago… I was so mad, not enough people watched it apperently.

all those sports in the x games tend to become over populated with wannabes . Would you like that to happen to unicycling?
Unicycling has a lot of devolopment to go (as in tricks/ riders).
Who cares? As long as we don’t become arrogant assholes like typical skaters, and start referring to newbies as ‘posers’ and ‘wannabes’, I’m good.
If that ever happens I’m protesting
Edit- how do new skates make it to the top now if they are just refered to as posers?
that wouldn’t happen with unicycling.
pretty much anyone can get skateboarding down or skating or biking down in a day or so.
but unicycling takes WAY more commitment than those others wheeled sports.
so i dont think well ever have “posers” so to speak…

They aren’t posers if they are acctually good.
And whoever said it above is right: Unicycling does not have enough big air to be as much as a spectator sport as the X games or anything even close.
I also think a small, small part of it is the associtation with those stupid clowns…
i like clowns, they shoud be in the X games, with there little squirty flower and painted on smile.
LOL!!
i don’t want it to be in the X games, i think we would have UNI punks if it happened, i think of at least 90% of unicyclists as at least 1/2 respectable people, and I don’t want that to go away.
Its not extreme or dangerous (well for the most part) or fast or popular and the tricks (as in crankflips) are impossible to see and its really hard to have any style
I think for street unicycling to become anything like bmx or skateboarding, everybody would have to use 24" wheels and be a lot smoother
OK…a day or so, huh? Yes…in a day or so you may be able to roll on a skateboard down a small hill. You will not be riding vert, or doing kickflips, or riding anywhere near a level that will have you taken seriously by your peers. Same with BMX…sure, most everyone can ride a bike…they learned when they were kids. Can they ride at a skatepark without cracking their skulls open? Can they link together flatland tricks so they look effortless? Prob. not. The reason I ride UNI is because the people are very open minded and supportive(and I could freemount on my first day because of my BMX flatland background…that doesn’y make UNI “easy” in my book)…bagging on other sports and dumbing them down just makes us all look lame. Yes, UNI is difficult…no it doesn’t show well on TV where people want “extreme!!!”(same problem with BMX flatland-no 30ft jumps to wow the crowd-so they dropped it from the x-games)…but in my mind UNI is no less hardcore than skating or BMX. I skated and rode BMX my whole life, and I always had to listen to one group of friends put down the other so they could feel better about themselves…it gets old really quick. Lets not turn UNI into another US vs. THEM thing…please. Respect others for their abilities, and if they do not respect you in turn, that’s their loss.
People need to stop pussing around and send it off a 20ft drop.
BS all those sports are fucking hard and take loads of comitment.
Most people quit skateboarding before learning to ollie. Once you learn to unicycle, which doesn’t take that long, hopping is hella easy. Ollieing high takes commitment.
BMX is one of the hardest, especially flatland. Learning to manual on a bmx bike alone takes as long to learn to uni. Standing on the front pegs lifting the rest of the bike is way harder than BC wheeling. Bunny hops take huge commitment and lots of sore backs to get high.
I punch Uni-punks in the face
ur kidding me my 3rd try i ollied over 3 inches
but i doubt you can do anything else
now hes probably going to post saying how he can kickflip and varial and underflip…and it wont be true
