Having watched nearly a dozen of these videos, I’ve got to give you kudos. This is definitely the best series of instructional videos for unicyclists I have seen by a longshot.
I just want to say I really like these videos. The way you break things down with logical steps and logical progression is good. I can free mount, ride and hop, and ride off road/muni. I have no other skills or tricks though, so I’m going to be working through the progression in your videos to try and become a more skilled all-round rider and hopefully the techniques will also improve my muni riding too. Thanks!
@Duff @OorWullie Thank you two so much!
There’s also Eli Brills unicycle school (which focuses on more advanced skills/tricks but also has some beginner episodes): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GA3PafgNxhE&list=PLdKARu4d6vwXYhdoLgOQNKOfvj8NVhnMa
And RideOne, lots of beginner stuff, I haven’t seen them all but trust they’re quality

Not sure if I’ve already mentioned this, but I would love to see the map that you show in the intro when going to a specific episode (for example flatland level 3) with all the tricks / techniques listed for each video.
if you want to re-view a certain technique it’ll greatly help to find the correct video ![]()
Totally, I’ve been going over in my head where the best place would be to display this ![]()
Ideally it’s own website but bleeeeeh extra $… But might be worth it… contemplates, waiting for a sign.
I’ve removed it from the intro as I understand its a cool lil thing, but it is unnecessary, I was spending like half an hour trying to get something right in the editing, something wasn’t lining up- so I biffed it so it doesn’t slow me down for any future episodes.
Perhaps an image on Patreon?
Btw, I did consider supporting you via Patreon a few times now, but I’m not happy with the way Patreon handles it’s pricing. It’s more expensive for me than for someone from the US.
The current exchange rate from USD to EUR is 0.82. Patreon does a 1.0 conversion and then adds some more taxes on it as well.
Eventually for your $5 tier I pay $7.36. This is only displayed during checkout and it feels totally unfair…
Maybe I’m not the only one who finds this a reason not to subscribe and maybe it’ll be worth considering an alternative platform?
I wouldn’t be surprised if this is a barrier for others. Thanks for the alternatives, I’ll have a look into them ![]()
Do you also have a tutorial on coasting? With and without brake.
Oh boy.
I could make a video about coasting, but not using the brake. I’ve next had a brake on any Muni I’ve ever ridden! So I’ve only been able to try the Muni glide/coast using a brake on other peoples unicycles. But my understanding is that the Muni/brake coast is much easier, as there are additional points (the brakes) touching the tire, so it’s not actually coasting, it’s more of a ‘no-footer glide’.
New video!!!
Fakie 180twist
No Footer Footplant
Crankgrab 180out
Main focus on footplant, which was someones earlier suggestion (get it all the time)… So focused on it a fair bit in this episode.
In terms of a video for coasting… These tutorials are a loooong way off, in terms of reaching that level. But I plan to get there eventually
Though it might be refreshing to make a dedicated tutorial to something specific… Thanks for the suggestion ![]()
You’re right about Patreon taking an unfair cut, in an undisclosed way.
I’ve been looking into alternatives but I haven’t locked one in yet. Maybe Ko-fi? I’m hoping to have decided by the next video so I can start offering it to people as an alternative, just didn’t quite get there in terms of this video. Lots of options, hard to wade through ![]()
I have no experience myself, but did some searching and this seems good for the creator:
For the rest there are more, but mostly associated with porn (e.g. onlyfans), photography (e.g. makani.io) or music (forgot the name
)
I’ve been looking into ko-fi, no charges for people that donate, just a processing fee for me to withdraw. So I think I’ll move to that in the future (I’m slow with this shit)
But anyway, new episode online!
Hop on tire
Tiregrab superman
Body varial mount
Next General level is online ![]()
Wheelwalk
Feet back to pedals one-foot ride
SIF backwards
Blind one foot ride
Seatdrop one foot pick up mount (great name)
Bay hop
I said it was going to be shorter, nek minute this is the longest one yet lolol
It’s been a couple months since the last episode, but the new UniQuest is now online, Street Level 5!
We’re still hovering around the beginner tricks but things are getting more interesting as we expand our bag of tricks and how to use them in street environments!
0:30 180 down curb
3:58 Outspin footplant
8:13 Running jump mount
10:39 Pop-plant
New episode:

This also means there’s a new Early Access episode on my patreon for those that don’t want to wait https://www.patreon.com/uniquest
Enjoy! And a special thank you to my Patreon’s, present and past, for keeping me motivated, allowing this free content to be created ![]()
Great video. I wish I had found this series when I first started. Any bit of free time I got I’m ripping around the yard and having a blast despite beating myself with a unicycle. Lol
I know someone else using ko-fi… ![]()
As for me, I have about 5% fees from international Paypal and Stripe donations.
But that’s not related to Ko-Fi of course, which is free as you say.
Works well, no complaint about their service. But many others options exist, I didn’t do a lot of researches. I wanted to do something simple (and a bit fancy).
If you find interesting options, don’t hesitate to send a direct message and inform me. ![]()
New vid!
★Flatland Level 5:
0:00 Intro
0:40 180Unispin (get it!!!)
6:48 Seatdrop-legwrap

New episode!
This is the last episode covering freestyle skills, though I have a range of freestyle skills like coasting, which I come advise on, I feel I’m reaching my limit in terms of my expertise on these skills. So, last one, but will be continuing with videos on street/flatland skills ![]()
0:29 Glide
4:41 One-foot idle
5:53 Frame Hopping
7:38 Sideways Wheel Walk mount
