This is definitely in the rulebook (section 3D.13). We’ve implemented this rule for years in our French cups, in order for the event to not span too long. I don’t think it has ever been an issue for riders 
However, we can acknowledge that this information should probably have been sent earlier. The IUF has some things to learn from this organization. You should come at the IUF public meeting to report whatever displeased you here

Between the two of us, we should be about average! 
There are some things that should have been communicated sooner… But honestly, it would seem unusual to me if there weren’t a time limit. The route goes along roads and streets used by other people.
Also, I can’t let it slide when you say that we think first and foremost about the fast riders. From the perspective of a fast rider, I can assure you that I often think the opposite. In fact, most races are designed for those who ride at an average pace, neither too fast nor too slow.
For example, the current marathon route doesn’t appeal at all the fastest riders (there’s a 2.8-km section of trail that’s 3 meters wide, which has to be ridden twice in both directions, four times in total). We’re not immune to a last-minute change. 
The races are part of the experience, but what I remember most about my first UNICON is seeing unicyclists everywhere when I’m used to seeing none at all.
Racing 21 km in under 1 hour and 30 minutes is a great opportunity to set yourself an extra goal. I hope you can do it!
Also, I hope everyone has replied to the email and sent in an estimated time for the 10 km race. It’s really important for organizing the race starts.

Bike box is packed, just need to seal it up. It’s amazing how much space a 32 and a 20 take up once you add a helmet, bike lock and basic tools…
Does it matter it’s such a mess?
Also definitely sorting out something more permanent if I have to do this again. This took much time and was very silly…

Can someone lend me a 29" or bigger unicycle for the 10k on Sunday 3:30pm?
I may not have my Muni in Steyr that day and I don’t want to do it with a 20".
could be a nice challenge.. 10km on a 20". I don’t think you will get first place.

When packing for Unicon 18 i Spain I had kind of a soft bicycle bag with foam on both sides. I brought two frames, two seats, three wheels and a muni tyre. In that way I could have four different unicycles with me 
Besides this I brought a big wheeled suitcase with the rest of my stuff. I have never been good at travelling light …

Was wondering how you could fit so much then re-measured my box. Yours is 10cm thicker and 30cm longer. Definitely over cut down but it did start as 180x120x35 which was way too big to even fit in a car!
By any chance, and if it’s no effort, would you be able to measure the width of the inside (as in how big a wheel would fit) - unless that’s a 24" wheel in there, the box seems bigger than the 75cm internal width it’s supposed to have?
That is a 24” wheel - and also yes it does seem to have more than the 75cm internal. I guess because it has extra foam under the inside lining. Plus the tyre of the 29” wheel being deflated a bit helps too.
They both first with helmet and rucksack + shin guards and there’s voids aplenty for extra stuffing of things —— but I’m over by 2.5 kg 
Time to take out all but the essentials that HAVE to go inside here (tools, pump and see)

You can put the seat and tire in your carry on backpack or suitcase, they usually don’t check the weight, so you can put the heavy but not too big nor dangerous (not a pedal key, since you could kill someone with how heavy they are) stuff in it.
