Touring set ups for 29”

Hi guys, I’m looking at building my 29” unicycle into a multi day uni. I’ve been looking at different rack set ups but can’t decide. Has anyone got any pictures of there set up for inspiration ??

I recently found touring setups here:

There are many more, i.e. Ed Pratt on youtube.

Here’s my 29” touring setup, similar to Simon Jan’s is the previous post. I think overall his triangular frame design is more functional since it’s not so front heavy yet he can still strap move volume on the down tube and use aerobars.

That said, I’m considering selling my frame and fabricating a new one from Flansberrium. Let me know if you’re interested! It has a lot of mounting points for water bottles, air pumps, etc., which I really like.

Definitely looks cool, and those flansburn frames are awesome. He’s done some great work. I think I’ll try and build a triangular rack and pack mega lightweight. Definitely some awesome set ups about

I have a quite different setup, but I think a really good one. See the topic about it :

There are standard frames, there are V-frames, there are P-frames, there‘s the Nightfox 7-frame …and there‘s Aurelien‘s WTF?!-frame. A really clever and functional design. Chapeau! :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

A better name would be the super-practical-great-design-triangle-frame

(I don’t mean to be sarcastic, it actually looks like a good design)

I usually call it a double V frame…

Yeah, that‘s an accurate description for the original sketch. But the end product is different. More like a bridge, albeit a bridge that bears on a single point, in the end.
Mind blowing-frame is kind of adequate, too; but really, WTF is the first thing that comes to my mind when I look at it.
Just to be clear, while I‘m aware that this, erm, sounds derogatory, I actually really do like the design. Prolly the perfect touring frame.

You’re right, at first glance, WTF is probably the thing that comes to mind.

But the basic design idea is actually really simple : I wanted a touring setup, and really liked Ed Pratt’s design.

But I didn’t really like the fact that it looked a bit like some home made stuff with a lower quality. So I “just” designed the panniers included in the frame. However, I really don’t have a whole lot of room in it, and I have to pack really light. When I crossed Wisconsin after UNICON, I had basically clothes for 2-3 days. It was mandatory for me to find washing machines (I think I cleaned one jersey on the trail, using a water flask and hoping it would dry fast enough during the night).

[no puedo hablar portugues/brasil] 9000m de altura acumulada es increible! Dejas unas imagenes aqui?! Buena suerte.
(Todavia buscamos/elegimos imagenes que ponemos en la pagina principal de este foro )

Adding my 2c but a backpack, specifically an Osprey or other good one was my preference when doing 29” unipacking trips, and still is for bikepacking and unipacking. They support the weight on your back quite well and a good saddle/shorts makes it very comfy

Overall weight wise the backpack will be lighter than a rack and bag, less drag in a crosswind and the weight is more central so easier to control I find.

I will always put my water on the uni either with straps or on cargo cages as water is heavy.

Same setup on a 20” above, 29” below

Now that looks more like it .

Yeah, but that’s 20"

That looks larger than a 20

yeah it looks 24" maybe
