Thanks Ben, I’ll Just extend the slots and experiment with it. It usually takes me a little while to adjust to changes on the uni. I only changed the tire and the pedals, but it took me a couple of rides to appreciate the upgrades.
Phewww!
The seats are done.
My wife is looking for flat rate USPS boxes, assuming she has luck and finds a dozen boxes locally, I’ll pack the seats and label them tonight, then they’ll go out in the next couple days.
Another FYI: Due to the way that the seat flattens and the difficulty matching the inner steel reinforcement plate with the seat base, the T nuts on the place are slightly recessed into the base. Because the stock KH “black bolts” that secure the bumpers and seat are not that long, you “may” need to get some longer bolts for the seat to seat post mount.
I use the longer bolts that come with the KH Stiffener plates.
Also, take care to avoid cross threading those T nuts.
Woohoo!!
Woooot thanks again NB.
Xlnt!!
I’m excited, thanks!
A little big of a update on my flat seat adventures. I had on on my trials and this week it snapped and died a horrible death due to side hop so i dont know if it was becasue of the flatting or the base in general
Were you running it without a stiffener plate?
I have never broken a seat, they are quite strong, and the nylon base is very resilient. Are you sure you broke the seat and not the internal stiffener?
The base snapped at the back behind the seat post so I am sure I broke the base
Okay, so that’s behind the base.
Do you do anything wierd with your base that would stress the back portion?
Sif drop
Does sif stand for “seven-hundred inch fall”?
How far up were you?
It was off a loading dock a few days ago. so 5 foot or so
How new was it?
All the seats went out yesterday afternoon by Flat Rate USPS Priority Mail.
They should all be to you by Saturday, but if you don’t get your seat, keep in mind that the United States Postal is dealing with cut backs AND this is a holiday weekend, so you get what you pay for
If you don’t have your seat by this time next week, let me know so I can put a search on the package before I leave for vacation.
Sweet!
Look what I got in the mail! I got the package approximately an hour before I’m off for the holiday weekend to the cabin. Of course for the next hour I spent messing with the KH stiffener plate to get the saddle ready to ride. I’m putting in lots of distance this weekend on my G36 so I’ll come back with a report. Attached is a comparison with my current saddle and a close up of the new flat one.
Thanks Ben!
My seat was delivered today as well. Unfortunately, it came right before I was leaving the house to go to work. I didn’t even get a chance to open the box yet. I will need a couple of rides before I can give any feedback. It usually takes a little while before I adjust to change. I do plan to send some chocolate your way Ben, I just didn’t get around to it yet. Thanks again.
Woot my seats came today as well.
So something to go on my 2 new seat posts. One will go for a nice trip to NZ with me next week.
On a different note, I flattened my own today. Can’t track down my stapler though, so for now it doesn’t have a cover and I can’t ride it. Flattening wasn’t hard and I encourage any who are on the fence about doing it, to just do it.
