Yes I can send international, they are light enough to go airmail, 4-10 days for delivery. Cheers.
Perfect. How can put myself in line for one?
PS: will it be base only or complete seat with cover and cushion? :o
Base only, I won’t be able to build more until November as we are moving and all my workshop gear will be in storage:(
I guess I could do complete seats, I will give that some thought.
Cheers.
Okay, please let me know as soon we can make a deal. Complete seat will be preferable but I will take base only if not available.
Please keep me in mind. Waiting for news.
I’ve now logged a few hundred kms on the NNC saddle, and I’m happy to report that it is still my favourite saddle.
Here is a review on Adventure Unicyclist:

That’s just going to add to shipping costs. The base is made to take a KH handle and bumper, so you’re going to need to cannabalise a KH seat anyway. Get a seat like the KH Freeride- you get a removable cover and plenty of foam to trim down and shape as you wish.
the only problem is that if you trim down a lot of foam, you might find the cover to be too big…I think a KH Slim saddle would probably work slightly better.
I want one.
Count me in for one, especially if you figure out how to attach a KH T handlebar to it.
Not much to figure out- the NNC Flatfish is made for KH handles, so I’ve drilled holes for KH handles. As long as you drill it straight, it should fit.
The only thing to figure out is how to attach a reinforcement plate. With carbon fibre, the plate probably isn’t necessary. In fact, I don’t use the reinforcement plate on my plastic seatbase either, although I notice flex on the plastic base. A carbon base shouldn’t flex.
My 10 layer base feels very light, so I’m thinking about installing the KH reinforcement plate so I don’t crack the carbon. I haven’t (and won’t be) trying to break a NNC Flatfish seat just to prove a point. It will require the plate to be trimmed slightly and new holes drilled. On Peters 15 layer bases, I doubt it would be necessary.
I really didn’t mean figure out how to do it… I meant, figure out how to do it without breaking the seat and allowing me to put weight onto it. Or… If someone wants to make a stiffening plate for the flat design, I’m in. ![]()
Sorry ![]()
Yes, I think the seat is strong enough, although I would be more comfortable with a 15 layer base. On my 10 layer base, I would use a KH stiffener plate (which needs to be cut down slightly and new holes drilled).
NNC Flatfish MUni
This is the 15 layer MUni version, I used a KH Freeride seat for the parts, I think I will use a KH Slim for the next one.
I have only ridden this around the back yard but the first impressions I get are very good.
No loss of control, having the handle lower feels great for hopping.
Only draw back was brake mounting on the KH bracket, needed to go all the way forward to get the brake in the right place, this meant making a new thin clamp/strap as the one that came with the brake is too big to fit. Other brands of brake maybe ok.
No flex in the base.
I trimmed the excess material off the cover and glued to the base with 3M77 spry glue, if this moves I will rivet as staples won’t penetrate carbon.
I looks really different on the uni, even my wife said it looks wrong.
I will let you know how the first ride goes.
Cheers.
Sorry Pete but I can’t resist. Have you done the naked seat-test yet?
Ask your wife what looks more wrong…riding a curved seat with no clothes on vs riding a flat seat with no clothes on.
What do you think about attaching a KH handle to it? Stiffener plate needed?
It’s the same width as the existing KH seat bases. I’m not sure if Pete trimmed the seat foam ‘lip’ which overlaps the saddle though.
She said, thanks but no thanks! ![]()
Yip, trimmed the foam.
A T-bar should be no problem with out a stiffener, the base feels really strong but if you are prone to regular crashes, the leverage of the T-bar will certainly test the base.
Another quick update on the NNC.
I’ve put in a few hundred kms on them now (*all on a standard unicycle). Still performing well.
On the weekend I rode my curved impact Naomi just to see if I would notice a difference. I was surprised that the most noticeable thing was actually not disomfort (but it was just a short ride), it was the position of the handle.
On the curved Naomi, it felt like I had no leverage on the handle. I didn’t realise how much extra leverage the NNC saddle had until I rode the Naomi again.
I think the reason (which I’d outlined previously) is that your elbows are less bent on the flat saddle. You generate more power when your biceps are at greater length.
That effect on it’s own is worth using a flat saddle for. For me anyway.
So when can the mortals get one of these saddles?
I need a layup that’ll withstand the torque of my handles, but I am more than happy to pay the price for one of these unique flat seat bases…
Paypal warmed up and ready to go!
I am living without a workshop at the moment
I should be able to start making more seat bases by the second week in Dec.
Sorry for the delay
