If you brought out a 32" Stealth 2 and a Nightrider 32", you would be cutting edge and we would love you even more than we already do

I’m working on a better tire, Ardent 2.4 frankentire, just need to find some inexpensive donors and I’ll get it done.
Love the pics and explanation of the tire resizing. I think I want to try doing that eventually with a 3.8 Surly tire if they never end up making a fat tire in the 24" size. Right now, my Gazz 3.0 is fine but I really would like the full width available in the conundrum frame with a LM rim.
Was it hard to talk a shoe repair guy into sewing the tire up for you? How has the tire worn for you so far? Anything you would do different if you did it again?

I had to walk the shoe repair guy through the process, but it’s really not hard for them as they are used to sewing shoe soles.
The Barge cement works best, cold vulcanizing cement did not work.
Kevlar beads can be sewn together, which is essential to keep the tire from stretching and falling off the rim. Undersizing a little to compensate is a good idea.
The next one I make will be “butted” with a bridge of casing glued from inside and stitched in both directions.
In terms of durability, well, it’s stitched and glued, so it’s not weak per se, but it’s certainly not as durable as a whole tire. If it did start to come undone, you could simply regue and restitch.
The biggest is cost, so used tires are your best bet. If I was looking to make a 24" fat tire, the Surly Knard would be a nice 3" tire to downsize…
But honestly, since you have fat tire choices in a 26", it would probably be easier to get a 26" wheel and a ready made 4’ tire 
I definitly need a diskbrake. Its hard to stop in high gear without being supportet by a brake.

Yes… I have been in up state New York state for the last 5 weeks… been riding with the club in Chatham, its pretty big… they normally have 20+ riders when then meet on Sundays
I will be back for a few weeks in March / April
I have decided to leave the extra wheel in the US for the moment (I had space issues) … if anyone wants it let me know and I will get my girlfriend to send it out
New member of the 32’er family!
I tried to put together a true 32’er.
The main purpose was to make a uni as big as possible, but still small enough for my daughter, Nora. (During the work, I couldnt get rid of the thought wanting this for myself..). I can only say, the 32" wheel looks much more impressive in real life than in pictures. (Well, “impressive”… not big and heavy, quite the opsite!)
As a part of getting the uni small (smaller than a 36"), I had to adjust the frame. I added 4.5 cm (a bit less than 2") to a standard 28" frame, by cutting off the housing and adding a bit more of the lower part of the fork from a second frame.
In the pictures you can see that it still remain some “painting” work. I might allso have to cut down the seatpost/frame another cm, to make the uni fit the rider properly (its a question of how short cranks “we” manage to start with when getting used to the wheelsize).

The stock tire is actually pretty nice, though I am hoping that UDC (Roger, are you listening?) will mass produce this wheel and tire.

The wheel is 48, but its no problem to lace it down to 36… I have a spare one sitting in the US right now if you want it?
