My MP3 player (Creative Zen Stone) that I bought in France in January died about one week ago :(!
I was thunking about getting an Ipod Shuffle (3rd Generation), but I went to a store and discovered that it doesn’t have controls on the device, only on the phone cord!
My biggest problem with MP3 players while I’m riding, is that I’m always braking the phones… Normally on the cord!
So I started to research other MP3 players and phones…
Today I found the SkullCandy Double Agents, an over ear phone with a SD Card reader inside! So it’s basically an MP3 inside the headphone!
My question is: Does anyone use Skull Candy over ear headphones to ride street/flat? Do they stay safely in your head? or they keep falling?
I’ll pay about 150 Dollars for it here, the same as the Ipod shuffle 3rd generation!
I use them and they work pretty good, not quite like ear buds i dont think but they are still pretty good. Also if your breaking the cord, just put the cord down your shirt so it doesnt get in the way.
I have been looking to get something like these for quite a while now. Would be intresting to see how you get on if you get them. I dont know how well they will stay on your head when you are doing trials or street and jumping around alot.
I have the double agents, I got them online for $40. They don’t like to stay on my head if I’m jumping around. Rolling flat tricks are good but they wouldn’t be great for trials or flips. The main thing I don’t like about them is you can’t make playlists so you have to listen to the songs in the order they are on the memory card (there’s no shuffle feature either).
I have another set of skullcandy headphones (hesh I think) and they fit on my head tighter than the double agents do. The hesh ones fall off too sometimes (will probably happen with any above the head headphones if you move your head quickly) but at least the cord is there to catch them, if the double agents fall off then they hit the ground if you can’t catch them fast enough
I knew you had it and was looking for you on MSN yesterday :p!
I just found a 2nd generation 2gb iPod on a smaller music store. I think I’ll get it and some ear buds!
WHampson, usually I put the cord inside my shirt, but I also ride shirtless a lot! Sometimes I pass the cord through my pants belt… So it comes by my back and avoid hitting it with my arm! Helps a bit…
I route the cable down my back and it works really well. If you put your headphones in and then like flip your mp3 over your head and slot it down your back to your pocket or round your belt and to your pocket then you can ride shirtless and the wire doesnt get in the way. Also it doesnt tend to go tight when you hop and rip out of your ears. I just have a 2nd generation ipod shuffle which are really cheap and it just clips on the top of my trowsers and stays there.
I just wanted to pop my head in real quick to say “Don’t buy apple products. Fuck apple!” and then leave like so…whistles as I exit doing the ‘keep on truckin’ walk…
How much did you pay for those? Do you think I can find some in Wellington? I checked on NZ SkullCandy dealer and there are two stores… Not sure if the best place to get but I’ll give a try…
It will probably be way cheaper for me to get it there
iPod (classics) are hands down the best mp3s to use. Ever. VERY easy navigation compared to pretty much any other player, small enough to not be huge, play videos, quick, iTunes is all good, pretty good battery life. Only bad thing is the cost.
Imo.
Normal being which model? Lol.
Keen for some actually good headphones about now. ^^
I’ve had access to a variety of different mp3 players over time, and the ipods are NOTHING special in comparison at all. The battery lifespan on iPod’s are known for being a total joke so it’s funny you’d even mention that. I find that alot of peole who stick with their ipods and think they are the best are people who generally haven’t dealt with lots of other brands and what not.
Not to mention, I’m against apple products as a whole. Their popularity is based on pure mass manipulation. Fuck that. Down with the man, man!
haha! I’m on an Apple computer, on a Apple network, with an Apple router, with an Apple network drive and some Apple Ipods!
I’m just addict to Apple! No problems with spam so far, best warranty support, easy to setup everything, and awesome performance! And we also have Final Cut and Motion!
About the Ipods, well, the audio quality is DEFINITELY better than many devices out there! Way less noise… But yeah, it way too overpriced. I was using a creative one that was perfect, but died and I got it in France, so it would be hard to find warranty… But Adrien had the same, and they replaced his when it broke!
