Kinda like the space between forward rotation and backward rotation with geared unis, but prolly a bit more. Won’t you end up with different angles this way in left vs right pedal.
I think so. I imagine doing muni to be pretty sketchy with a set of those…
I would say, the manufacturer assumes it. I linked the images from their website.
Of cause, with the additional degree of freedom, you can and will get a lot of interesting paths. Think about idling with the swing crank. It should be possible, but it will probably require some adjustments to the idling technique.
Anyway, I do not think this equipment belongs to the unicycling world.
Most people would probably say neither does a unicycle with a wheel that has an off-centre hub, but I one of those!
To be clear I don’t think they would a useful/practical addition to a unicycle, and at the price that they are I’ll likely never buy a set for a bit of fun.
Maybe they have a demo-set you can use. 250-300 GBP is way too much for a silly invention.
Honestly for something custom machined in small volumes, the price is not outrageous, and they’re certainly a case of “if they’re not for you, they’re not for you”. I’m sure they work well for those with more limited knee movement (for which they are designed) or they wouldn’t have been selling them for over a decade.
