Post Your MUni here!

Is there any place where they show all their products? On their website are just the old hubs and cranks.

I would try fb: https://www.facebook.com/pages/mad4onecom/

I don’t know the price of the rim alone, you would have to ask Marco Vitale. Should not be as expensive as the hub or cranks though because they don’t manufacture the rims themselves (as far as I know). Unlike the KH rims they have the wholes exactly in the middle which should be stronger for wheels with inboard disc. Otherwise the spokes on one side would be close to vertical.

Oregon Muni

it’s much more scratched up now that I’ve gotten to ride it.
Tom’s got some in-action pics on his site:

SWEET! I was just thinking about getting one of those today,
Did you paint the frame yourself?
I’m guessing the cranks are 165/137?

very happy with mine.
yep, and yep.

Built a tubeless 29er! For now it’ll mostly be a commuter, but I plan to also use it for some light XC and maybe even bike polo if Naturequack will teach me how the game works when I move to Oregon.

Specs:
Impact Naomi foam and cover
Scott Wallis CF base
Thompson Elite seatpost
custom Triton 26/29 frame
Specialized S-Works Renegade tire 29x1.95-tubeless
Purple Velocity Blunt SL rim
Purple DT alloy nipples
Black DT Comp spokes
Purple Deity presta valve cap
Black cromo Mad4One hub
Purple Mad4One ergal aluminum light race/road cranks 125mm (352g)
Red Twenty6 Predators with Ti axle and purple pins

Big thanks to Marco for superior customer service! Mad4One ftw.

Bri, you sure have put together some good looking unis! Awesome!

Thank you! I think I’ll quit nursing school and be a unicycle designer. That’s a thing, right?

It could be… I’m not sure if you’d be willing to design unis that aren’t pink and purple though

That’s true. They wouldn’t be as pretty.

Just put Hans Dampf on…

Hey what do you use for your bar protectors? Also,is that a makeshift water bottle holder, or can you purchase any that attach directly to seatposts? These are two items I may want to add to my commuter.

I’d recommend my Muni and they work quite well …
It should be nearly impossibel to find a lighter solution.
If you face any issues with a moving bottlecage when UPDing (I have this only when the bottle is full and the saddle hits the ground really hard) then you can stick some gaffer-tape one round around the seatpost before mounting it.

A piece of an old tube and colored electrical tape. When it gets chewed up you can replace it.

It is an SKS bottlecage adapter. Uses a cool camlock that is easy to adjust/remove. Works great on the road, sometimes falls out offroad during UPDs. With practice you can drink while riding and don’t need a backpack.

SKS Bottle Cage Adapter…

Yep,

The SKS Bottle Cage Adapter makes it easy to carry extra water or sportsdrink on your MUni. It’s a very clever quick release bracket to which you can attach any standard water bottle cage (holder).

You can find more info here: http://www.universalcycles.com/shopping/product_details.php?id=44341&category=4893

And here’s another photo of the SKS Bottle Cage Adapter “in action” on my KH29.

Cheers,

UPD in Utah

I forgot to add that most standard water bottle cages (attached to the SKS adapter) hold an old standard 500 ml Nalgene bottle (in the picture) very well.

Yes, if you UPD hard in the direction the adapter is mounted your water bottle will fall out, but how often does that happen?

Here some additional pics:

For the space between the two Elite Vip-Straps I used plasti-covered perforated steel strap (as shown below) which had the same hole spacing as the bottle cage. This gives additional stiffnes to the construction and creates a save space for the cables wrapped araound the frame.

If I have time, I’ll shorten the brake hose.

+1 for SKS mounts. Also they are making nice “UNI” bags like this:

Using SKS bottle mount during commuting, prefer camel back for MUni.

Old Qu-ax muni, still going strong !
