Post your giraffe here

he ya show your giraffes!

6ft, 24" hoogworm, 150mm cranks

You once posted these photos on the German forum, I think. They were cool then, and they are cool now! A giraffe with a larger wheel is still something I have only encountered on the Internet, and even on the Internet, you don’t find them often. I guess they’re harder to control but probably more fun?

That’s a wild looking giraffe jogi! I’ve never seen spokes done like that before.

Here’s me mounting my 7 1/2 footer with my special ladder setup.

Hey Super G, any progress on your Unicycle Factory film?

tiny tall Pichler

My 5’ Pichlerrad, with double-chain for pair acrobatics. And 130mm cranks.
Haven’t been able to use it much, so I just took off pedals yesterday.

Yes, currently waiting on spring to come so I can practice on the 7 1/2 footer. After I’m practiced up, I will have a 3rd person video us riding as I interview Tommi. Then I will finish the documentary and put it on youtube. In the meantime I am working on the material I already have. I’m having fun with it and learning new stuff with photoshop and video editing.

I mentioned something to this effect on my original thread about it. The update is currently the last post on the thread:

Screen grab from the documentary I’m working on. Me on my 7 1/2 footer and Tommi on a 10 footer.

Film and literature created by active participants (rather than passive observers) is always superior, so, just as there is no better book on the October Revolution than the one written by Leon Trotsky, there is unlikely to be a better documentary on the Unicycle Factory than the one made by Super G!

Happy centennial!

Uni pics

I don’t have any pics. Yet…we’ll, I do have a ton of video and stills…I’m not up to speed on the camera/computer/posting thing. I do have help starting Friday morning. I’ll get it figured out. Anyway, I recently picked up a nimbus 5/7 footer. That thing is crazy fun. I have chatted with Super G about an afternoon of riding giraffes in his area. I’m looking forward to that. I may not make it Happen this year but I’m looking forward to making the few hour drive up, maybe we will get some nice early spring weather. Jeff c

Song - Thanks for the kind words. The documentary has been 2 steps forward, 1 step back, but it should turn out well. I look forward to your review.

Kwikkash - My schedule will lighten up a little soon. Hopefully we’ll have some nice weather one weekend.

Halloween 2016. I don’t know what I’m going to do this Halloween.

giraffe

This is my Nimbus performer 5/7 footer. Nothing custom at all, just a very cool very fun uni. If you have never tried a giraffe, its just terrifying fun. Jeff C.

My Giraffe, the first unicycle I ever bought. Before I purchased it in Feb. 1980, I had a “loaner” Troxel 16" piece of crap, followed much later by a borrowed Schwinn 20" and shared time on a Schwinn Giraffe.

Here it is at Clarke Quay in Singapore, where I was part of a small group doing strolling entertainment and daily focused shows for a couple of weeks in late 1994. I had the cranks, seatpost and many of the smaller parts chromed, added axle pegs, and have a white Semcycle cover stretched over a black one. It’s still in pretty much that condition now, and doesn’t get out nearly as much…

It’s the first uni I ever owned, and would be one of the last I would ever part with, even if I rarely ride it anymore.

I feel like a broken record, but here is a link to the two giraffe’s I built.
