Hope youâve got your luggage back. How is Austria and whatâs the riding like there?
My unicycles arrived good. I went one day to the bike park but it had rained, so some sections were very dangerous. The XC is pretty intimidating, I think I will only be able to do one lap without dismounting.

Really waiting for the 32" versions of these kind of things to come onto the market.
Isnât there a 36" version of the bag? Surely the 32" will fit nicely in that without having too much free space inside. I reckon this bag is primarily for taking wheels onto a plane? I generally just dump my uniâs the way the are in the car and leave the kids at home.

Make sure to report how it rides!
Also: whatâs its weight? Looks rather heavy with those additional parts. At least replacing the uni saddle with a b!ke saddle saves some weight.
Doesnât a bike seat take away stability?
I have to weight it properly but it feels lighter than my surly fat 24
It does compared to a uni saddle but that should only take away hands-free riding. OTOH, shaffing, pressure and al should be a thing of the past.
The main challenge prior to get used to the setup and seat is: it is setup for somebody with 10cm more legs (and the cranks are on the shorter hole) !!
So I will have to figure out how to bring things down to get on it
That looks like it might be a bit of a challenge, it looks pretty much fixed height â some blocks on the pedals would work 
. Once you do get on it it will be interesting to know if the suspension seat post is effective given it is only the back of the seat that is suspended.
I like the Look carbon fork, that is pretty cool 
From what I understood from the current original setup, the saddle is suspended through the seatpost but only for a short travel as the nose quickly hits the plate at the front. It seems good to avoid the kick-to-the-butt bumps that you can hit riding on the road with high pressure.
Unfortunately, between the size of the suspension post and the height of the frame neck, there is little choice to lower things:
- either I replace the seatpost for a regular one to drop the 10cm I need
- or I chop down this neck of the frame along with some of the seatpost and risk having insufficient insertion
I will likely go with the first solution as it is the least destructive and I want to try this setup as closely as possible before changing it in a fundamental way.
It is a shame to replace the seatpost with a regular one but even if you were to start cutting things you would be quite limited given the way that it is triangulated with the mount for the suspension seatpost. Functionality not withstanding, I really like the look of it.
Is the wheel laced in a non-conventional way? The spoke pattern looks a bit different, maybe it is just the way I am looking at it.
Looks pretty much standard 3-cross-lacing to me.
@UniGeezer Beautiful addition to your collection! I have no doubt that you will put it to good use. I still canât get over that mind-boggling hill climb you performed!

I know !! That was one of the details of this build I was curious to try !
I will definitely try several configurations and my brain is playing legos with these parts to see if I can reshuffle them in a different way.
The regular seatpost is just the stepping stone to test the whole V-frame, expert handlebar and initial feeling of a b!ke saddle all at once
