What do you use ur 20” for? It doesnt have a square frame at the top to put ur feet on.
I‘m currently doing some work on the frame of my 20er, thus I replaced the frame …and the seat too, while I was at it, ’cause I was too lazy to mount the original seat to the 27.2mm seat post that the new frame required.
I use my 20er either for practising tricks, or when I take it to some place where a bigger uni would be hard to store away. And sometimes I simply ride it for some variation. The crown isn‘t square, indeed, but there are some protrusions that help (plus I‘m not doing any tricks that require me to stand on the crown). One foot wasn‘t a problem, but that can also be done on a perfectly rounded uni crown.
Yesterday I was practising one foot, foot out (so the crown didn‘t matter at all) with my weak foot. 8 revolutions. I also tried stand still, but that‘ll be a long journey to ever get there! Also tried to slowly ride backwards, and that‘s where I think I have the best chances to improve. I practised in the dark, but had mounted a LED lamp to the uni. That revealed how wobbly my backward riding still is.
Something you’ve all been waiting for. A picture of my full collection. 12 unicycles, 3 ultimate wheels and one BC wheel and the KingSong EUC
what’s the story with the disc brake 20” Nimbus II in front of the chair? Can’t see if you’ve got a G20 going on or if there is a different practical reason for that insanity…
Nevermind, checked your bio… freewheel - I keep forgetting those are a thing!
Nice pile
Must say, your granny uni is still the best looking of the whole bunch ![]()
Maybe a freewheel?
How did you see which is the freewheel?
there’s only 1 little uni with a brake!
It’s a bit of a pity. The idea of being able to coast with a uni is kick-ass, but I had a bad backwards fall with it in a gym, many years ago and then lost interest in taking it further. Maybe now with the BC Wheel, I might get to a point where I have more confidence again. Though I will wait until next summer when the weather is better. I don’t want to pick up the wheel when it is wet. Same with the UW’s
Small wheel, brake, old frame with parts that look somewhat tossed together.
That is actually how I bought it from unicycle.com. I am not much of a tinkerer.
Oh I totally forgot, I also have a lunicycle, which is missing in the picture
Welp. Gotta take another.
you’re good with AI. Why don’t you add a lunicycle to the picture. It is about the same size as a 20", but it has an oval wheel.
Lunicycle- so you already have the pedals for easy 36" UWing
Nevertheless all forces cross the knees (like side balancing forces), what might be problematic in your case especially in mount/unmount/UPD situations.
the lunicycle leg holds are held together with minuscule screws. I still don’t understand how they could have come up with such a super weak solution. the holder already broke with my first try and even though they sent me a new one, I haven’t tried it since. Given the wheel size, Im sure the 36" UW is more comfy. Wouldn’t a lunicycle be just as tiring as a UW. you still have to stand all the time and can’t sit down to get energy back in the legs.
I guess it would be as tiring as standing up off the saddle on a normal uni or as you remember on a bicycle. It is not so extremely tiring I guess, because you automatically try to straighten your legs and compensate the wrong length with the hip and up-/down movement.
I had to look the lunicycle up. Interesting variant of the ultra wheel.
When I read the wheel was oval I first thought it was to make things more spicy, not to smoothen the ride. Would be kinda interesting to build a 29er (standard uni for me) with a decidedly oval wheel. Too bad I don‘t have a spare rim lying about.
@Ulkicycling is an all-round uni-builder. Maybe he can turn his UW36 into an oval wheel.
… an all-oval uni-builder…
