They look longer than 8 feet to me. Many hardware stores sell 10’ or 12’ lumber.
I’m fairly sure they were about 10’ I can’t remember how many cm were marked out on them but I think it was close to 350-ish.
Over 60 and going strong…I hope ![]()
Last ride in Manchester, UK - riding rather than standing next to the uni!
Cool! I would love to have a Floro yellow thing like that when I ride my coker:p
ah, now that i look closer, they are significantly wider than the parking spot, which is 9.5 feet give or take
350 cm= about 12 feet, sounds more reasonable, 10 feet is just under 320 cm
do you know what the winning jump was?
I don’t remember…
Hmph. I was supposed to go to play hockey last night, but the driver wouldn’t let me on the bus with my unicycle (he was a right poo head*). So I went for a bit of an explore of an area I haven’t ridden much before, on my muni.
It was mostly pretty easy, and muddy in parts. I got stung by a million nettles too, legs are still buzzing a little bit now - on the narrow path pictured, all the things at the side are either nettles or brambles. Ouch. I didn’t really find that much in the way of interesting trails unfortunately. On the plus side, I got back after dark, and managed to ride down a nice steep (and rather muddy) local hill called ‘The Ski Slope’ on the way. Riding a steep and somewhat loose looking downhill in the dark using a handheld torch that I’d brought in case of emergency was a bit of fun.

*that might not be quite the word I mean
Some of my local trails are ‘feeling’ like that too at the moment. I like the buzzing sensation, it makes my legs feel alive, energized!!
I don’t mind a bit of a sting, but not when it is so bad that it is still noticeable 24 hours later!
Fortunately this isn’t on my normal trails, they are not so bad, so hopefully people at the Peaks Muni Trip won’t get too stung!

Sorry to go a bit OT (actually quite a bit OT - it’s not a picture or even unicycle related), but that reminds me of a bloke I used to ride with when I was a student. He was mostly a road racer (as was I) and a few of us had started to dabble in mountain biking. When we went for an MTB ride he’d always wear long tights even in the middle of summer - not because he was afraid of injuries or infection but because he didn’t want little red scratches from bushes messing up the look of his legs in the next road race. How vain is that?!
Rob
I think my legs are a lost cause! Currently they have scratches on them from unicycling, walking/scrambling over rocks and bashes from swimming over rocks.

Tomorow, I’m gonna go take some pictures and videos of the new trials spot I just found today. I’ll post a couple here, and my uni also in custom KH thread:).
Yeah it’s great eh? Actually they didn’t want to give me one 'cos I didn’t qualify as ‘real’ bi-cyclist - but I insisted 'cos I’ve always wanted one. In the end they were offering me a handful as they couldn’t get onyone else to wear them - wonder why ![]()
One of my favourite circular road routes takes in the Llanwddyn Dam. Quotations invited for what the little boy on the left might be saying about me/unicycle.
265cm by max
ah, 8’-7", or something like that, that’s a good jump if you ask me.
“Does he look like the guy grandpa told us about when he went to Manchester last week?”

lol
Nice one!
Great 29’er ride in the aptly named Black Forest
