i go there!
i hate that hill with the folly only manged to get 2/3 up it…fun little rideonce you get up there though.
Awsome picture Mike
Love pictures like this.
I turned left out of the carpark at Newtown Linford and took the long gradual slope up the back to the folly. It’s tough, but only the last 20 metres or so is really tricky. I couldn’t ride up from the side shown in the photo.
I am using these which are sold in many almost identical variants on ebay. I chose these because they seemed to be the cheapest option
Mikefule’s first shot (with the path drawn on in red) looks so Dartmoor-like that I’d be prepared to put money on it being just down the road from me if he hadn’t told us where it was. Uncanny.

Heres some from a night ride I did with Sam a few weeks ago, he had just gotten a new set of shoes - his old pair literally fell apart.
Those shots are just amazing. You have a killer eye. How did you do the streaks?
Glad you like it, my daughter and I bent our fun meter the whole way down. So nice to spend time with my daughter unicycling down big mountains, covered with snow
suiside mount and 180 suiside mount i just learned today!
suiside mount pic.bmp (1010 KB)
suiside mount 2pic.bmp (1010 KB)
The streaking lights are due to a longer exposure being used and the camera being moved, they were streetlights or windows in the buildings around us. Sam doesn’t blur like the lights because he is being lit by an off camera flash and when theres no ambient light, flashes “freeze” motion and get rid of any potential motion blur on the subjects they light.
The framing of the “slow” sign down in the corner is perfect. Nice shot!
that’s a jump mount. Suicide mounts are done without holding the unicycle.
Nice. I understand about the flash and camera movement, but the streaks so perfectly frame him that I wondered if you created them in a double exposure.
Hazardous route and rider. Wet conditions in the forest, so many UPD’s, crazy!
Is that a 36er?
trials from yesterday. I met a photographer there and he sent me some shots. i think they are really good.
yeah that is a GUNI 36er, love it!
Very brief ride at the Water Sports this evening. My bearing clamp had worked loose and I had no Allen key to tighten it. I took the opportunity to try out my new lightweight portable tripod. I also took the opportunity to lose the little bag for my sunglasses - you know, the little bag that is the only thing you can possibly clean the lenses with?
