Pictures of your latest ride

I have actullay managed to get out since UNICON. We have had rain rain rain although that is only an excuse not to get dirty. I am taking the 29er out as we have a 12 hour day/ nighter coming up this weekend when our team of 4 unicyclists will take on the mountain bikers.

Third week of unicycling and I bought a Camelbak and bike shorts. They are both great, and I’m extremely happy and comfortable going further and further distances

Congratulations on the family commute!

I think Gus needs a bigger wheel for his commute.

Does dodging bears count as “technical”?

Not really as judging by the height of that saddle your are 10’ giant who could wear two bears as fluffy slippers so the bear has more to be afraid of than you :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously how tall are you, on a 29; I would have about 4" of post exposed if that (I am not very tall to be fair)??? lol

Did the Ride 542 yesterday on my 36er. 24.5 miles, 4300+ feet of climbing. Last year I rode my bike, but I saw Joe Myers on his unicycle. Talked with him for a bit and decided I had to try it myself, so I bought my Nimbus. The last 10 miles are all uphill and very difficult. I passed 7 bike riders during this final climb. Sure enjoyed that. Rode in my 150 holes. 125’s were not an option on this hill. Not for me anyway.
Joe, you are the man! Not sure how long it took you, but it took me about 3hours, 45 minutes. Everyone kept asking if I was you. I made sure to tell them I was not, but when I grow up I want to be just like Joe and Aspen Mike. Thanks for the inspiration.

@ Feisty: Just 6’4", although I’ve heard that I’ve been described as looking “like Lurch on a unicycle.”

@ keithb26: Nice job! I’ve toyed with the idea of coming over to try that ride. Someday maybe I’ll grow up to be like you.

Nice!

keithb26 YOU are the man! Nice ride!

I’ve used everything down to 110s on that ride. My record time was on 140s.

Not scat only

I only count them as technical when they stand in the middle of the trail blocking my path. I count sightings as distractions.

Come on over and ride next year. I was actually able to register as a unicycle rider. That was worth the registration fee itself. The great thing about this ride is that they close the road to cars during the ride. Very peaceful and quiet as I traveled down the middle of the road. Damn bike riders get in the way, but once you get past them it’s very serene…

I was actually thinking of that, so much so that I was looking to buy a lighter 36er today. Sadly, UDC-US has neither a KH36 or Nimbus Impulse in stock.

I plan to do it again next year. I would like another year of training. I just got my 36er in February and a project at work took more of my workout time than I expected. Maybe only about 65% of the training I had hoped for.
If you do make it out, let me know, My wife and I will take you to dinner, or feed you some fresh salmon. Because when I’m not on the Uni, I’m on the boat catching 'em.

Here is two pics from my test drive of my new 36" uni. That was a bit different (after 26") and unusual… But 12.6km ride gave me clear picture - I love it!

Ride location - Aktau city, Kazakhstan.

more photos from middle asia;)

Some more morning rides from Kazakhstan

Nice coast, but too peaceful, looks like Europe … next time show us some unusual weird places:D

Here is another side from the sea (living on peninsula Mangyshlak).

All hills are limestones and shellrocks - good for riding when flat enough:

Where is hard sand formations - good for riding. Excluding sand areas:

In the evening you always have a nice sunset:

that’s better:)
