hey you should post some pictures of that hurting wheel.
Cheers for the advice Homie ![]()
This attempt was just for the photo. I mostly grind the whole thing and on the pedal too, feels dirty as when the crank gets on there!
The best one is on video ![]()
@Knoxuni: I managed to get it ridable again, so theres not much to see in the bent rim department, and I chucked the tube away.
Very late response I know, but I only saw this now. There’s something odd about that first picture. The foreground grass is in focus quite close by, say 2 meters. The ‘horizon’ of the grass is out of focus. Yet the unicyclist riding there is in focus, as is the village in the valley and the far mountains.
Also, the sun on the unicyclist is from the left. This seems incompatible with some of the shadows in the grass.
So this looks photoshopped to me. Nice try though.
If it were real, I wouldn’t dare to even try walking down there.
I’ve ridden down things that I would have been scared to walk down.
But I agree, both the foreground grass and turtle could not be in focus (also the grass under him is out of focus).
not a picture- but it is my latest ride so that counts…sort of
I was feeling a bit lethargic the other day so instead of smashing out a big XC ride I spent the morning filming one of my favourite DH runs. It was fun, but no way near the intensive workout I’m used to on a ride. Still, its good to do every now and then.
enjoy!
Not much of a plot, but I really liked the music! Also it took me a minute to figure out why the speed looked wrong. High gear! Me want one…
There would have been a plot if he finally caught that butterfly (not in a harmful way of course) that he was chasing for four minutes ![]()
Nice riding, the high gear makes it really interesting to watch.
There goes my 25 years of attempting to educate the public that no, unicycling is nothing to do with the circus, it is a serious sport…![]()
plot? Since when did muni videos need to have a plot?
I thought starting at the top of a hill, and riding to the bottom was a fairly accepted narrative structure for muni videos! I guess times are changing. Hmmmm… maybe for my next one I can work in a subplot regarding a love triangle ![]()

i invited some muni friends (Gregor, Flo, Sarah, Jogi, Elke, Stefan, Julia, Sandy, Thomas, Martina) for turtle’s christmas in the woods (two muni rides in the snow, one even in the dark and afterwards some fondue at our home):
Turtle that picture of yellow helmeted upd is priceless!
Everyone I know is out of town for new years, so I took a ride down town. There was a pretty good turn out, Granville St. was packed shoulder to shoulder.
Also the wheel chocks on the train were woefully undersized for my WTB Stout. I should file a complaint.
I got to play a game of find the creaking noise too. The correct answer was a loose bearing cap.
Turtle, you all sure do know how to. Have a good time!
And look at all those munis!!
but that isn’t a upd, it is Flo’s snow flip dismount (you’ll see it in my next vid, coming soon)
That is a beautiful night there))))))) Well done with the fondue party.
Shug
Please don’t. Stick to the standard unicycle-porn plot. ![]()
Amen to that! It looked like a blast! One of those situations where being cold, wet and not being able to feel your fingers and toes is well worth it.
On the other hand, yesterday I was able to join a group of 16 on the famous Rob’s Ride in Santa Cruz, where the high was over 20 degrees C (which is not a typical temp for January). That’s Aina Dressler and Rob Boman himself, going past a magnificent dead oak.
I’ve done some brilliant 36" uni rides over the festive season
