Pictures of your latest ride continued

If you wanna rush then go faster. Cycling fast for one hour could be called a ‘rush hour’ :stuck_out_tongue:

First day on the giraffe. I got started on a tennis court, using the chain-link fence for mounting. At home, where this photo was taken, I mounted the giraffe with the aid of a tree branch and the slack line stretched across our front yard.

+1. First week myself on a 5 foot giraffe.. The first day: riding it was ok but getting on it was a bit scary, the seat felt really high up! It is like learning to mount a unicycle for the first time.. I had to get onto boxes/cars to be able to get on it.. Thankfully I’m starting to get a bit better with the mounting, I can do a sort of freemounting/climbing but still need to lean onto something once a I get to the top to regain the balance (otherwise I fall off..). Great fun, a very different feel from riding standard height unicycles..

Good photo

finally got someone to take a pic

I look like a mushroom with that helmet, but who cares. I am so happy that I started learning uni 5 weeks ago. Just have to take it for a spin every single day.

(Imagine a picture of a raccoon, its eyes reflecting in my headlamp)

Took my first full crack at the Central Park loop tonight, setting out at dusk with lights and newly installed reflector tape. As always the first part of the ride was hard, not being happy about how I was sitting or where my feet were and lost the uni rather dramatically at one point while trying to shift a foot. Still walked more interludes than I would have liked to, including the second half of the main up hill, but in general it went well.

Was sad to realize I was well past my starting point as it was going much easier by then, but had to stop for the night - going for two laps is a bit in the future.

Best ride I’ve had in a while…

3 miles up and 8 miles of down. First ride on my Waltworks frame (more to come on that).

The Kris Holm/Ansel Adams of our generation…

What’s that stuff stuck to your unicycles called? It looks like mud, but dry and powdery. I think I saw something similar here in Scotland but it was years ago…
Jealous of these pictures of sun & dry hardpack!

Over here that stuff is call drought:D

Whatever it is I keep blowing it out of my nose. :stuck_out_tongue:
That was an awesome ride even with the mysterious guy sighting.

So cool you that you have a mysterious guy at your back as a riding partner :sunglasses:

Cant wait til my brother get out of his 20incher and actually hit some hills with me…

No the Mysterious guy was yelling from 100 feet off the trail if I could “pour some water in his mouth” from my camel pack… Awkward…

LoL!!!

My buddy Steve had told me if ever I should to find myself way dehydrated even after finishing a gallon of water, he suggested that Bear Grylles would recycle “yellow” water. For survival sake, that yellow looking pouch would have to do!

I haven’t posted for a while, but I’m still riding. So here are some photos and more to be found with description on my blog: http://vooni.kkdt.org/post/127545616369/quick-myślenice-race

50th Bob Cook Memorial Mt. Evans Hillclimb

Super stoked to have success again on North America’s highest paved road. Mount Evans is the road into the sky, topping out at 14,240’, (4341 meters). Just under 7,000’, (2134 meters) of ascending. I passed through 3 life zones; passing ancient trees, lakes and forest to the land above timberline. Mountain Goats and Bighorn Sheep greeted us at the top of the world. Summit weather was best ever; no threat of lighting or rain. Spent time on summit with good friend Jerry from Florida; he was training for Ironman 70.3 world championships in Austria, happening this Sunday. Grateful

Hubbs and I toured the Highlands of Scotland and the Outer Hebrides for a few weeks in June.

We passed over the Kylesku bridge on the A894. Some of you will have seen the fastastic you tube video from the Team Voodoo guys. One of their riders unicycles over the bridge on the handrail…

Well, I thought 'I’ve just got give that a go!"
