Pictures of your latest ride continued

Great pictures everybody

 :astonished:  Those two could be in the running for the best I’ve ever seen.

The real mountain trails are still too hard for me… So I took a nice long ride through the valleys in beautifull Austria

Another thursday night ride that was fun and with perfect temperature thanks to the light rain !
We got a great ride thanks to our guide that made sure we hit the nice features there.

(I chose this pic but not everybody has a wonderful scenery or amazing photographer skills so I’d rather go raw ^_^).

too bad I am alone in bear country :

(at the very place of the picture a deer protested I was trespassing its private property :))

Had another terrific photo session with professional photographer James Richard Kao, of James Kao Foto. Shot 8/6 and the sunset was one of the most beautiful I’ve seen! The rock drop took the longest to set up and light for the best effect. He needed to capture the shot right where you see it so the tree wouldn’t be in the way.

Nothing quite says “I’m at the top of my game” than having a professional photographer follow you around. :stuck_out_tongue:

Great job being a badass and inspiration to everyone else, as always. They’re all great photos, but I especially like the one shot from below with the clouds. That could easily be a framed print on the wall of any aspiring unicyclist.

Thank you for those kind words. James is such a gifted photographer, he can make anyone look good!

Falknis 2530 masl (8300), a mountain on the Liechtenstein/ Swiss border, not particularly high, but with the start 470 meters (1540 feet) above sea level but a challenge. By car i drove five minutes to the start, from there i took the path to Alp Lawena (1530 masl). Theoretically, all rideable, but the track is so steep that I could ride just under half.
On the Alp Lawena I treated myself to a large Rivella and a short break. on a hiking trail i went up to the ridge Mazorahöhi / 2050 masl (6725 feet). Slowly I realized that the time of 4h ascent was even optimistic va because of the way from the crest was extremely steep, I got tired legs, the unicycle on the back was more heavy and the heat (29 degrees celcius at 2000m above sealevel!) was extremely. With my last strength I quite made it to the summit in exactly 4 hours and 15 minutes.
The view was fantastic! At the summit, some hikers were who have risen from the Swiss side (there is a cable car that goes up to 1800 meters above sea level). During the ascent itself, I met only a walker.
I rested a bit before I went on the downhill. Down to the ridge not much was rideable, from there to Blazers it was a fantastic trail, technically very demanding part, especially as I had no more power reserves. In the two short ascents I made then definitely tired and had to take several breaks.
After exactly 6 hours and 30 minutes incl. All breaks I reached Blazers where I took the bus that brought me in five minutes to the car.
The good is so close!

In NYC for a couple of days, I rode the Summer Streets on saturday, pretty cool “Reclaim the streets” kind of event.

Rode from Grand Central Station all the way back to Brooklyn via the Brooklyn bridge.

Love the KH blue, but here in NYC, it looks like you’ve rented a City (uni)Bike!

Went to the Brooklyn Bridge Park today, and rode with local unicyclist Chris. Always good fun to meet unicyclists around the world!

We ended up riding the Bridge the other way round, recommended!

Merrily muni-ing along, then fell in a hornet nest.

Chose to forgo a selfie at that moment.

Klein Karoo - Red Hills Lodge

Family fun and a ride on the jeep track through the Almond orchards in full bloom. Classic!

Small morning trial session near my home

With much huff and puff I made myself up starting from the Creek Trail to the switchbacks of the Boccardo Loop Trail and with much determination, completed the Loop. My highest climb up to date. 3hr ride. Ended up taking a rest, from quad muscle leg cramps, due dehydration of not bringing enough water. Besides that, it was quite a BLAST!

UPD sod riding up that!
But I’d love toride down it

A response to Krjames,

I’ve seemed to reach the point where Ive distinguished two types of love. The painful love of pushing oneself up the mountains, and the other, of pure adrenaline and focus of riding techincal downhills.

For this particular ride I would have to say the love would go more towards slogging upwards, darn painful it is catching one’s breath upwards. There’s just something so rewarding to reach the top, that going down it dulls in comparison. Down is just a relief ride rather than really really pleasurable.

Maybe its because now I have reached the point where its only an adrenaline rush if the hill is wayyy steeper than I could climb and throw in a few rocks, then it begins to be love.

I donno, but it seems like I’m constantly seeking out new trails, new thrills for that rush…kinda addictive I would say.

Solowheel encounter…

ter…

That last part hits it on the head. I’m always seeking out the next big rush whether on a bike or uni.
