so i have decided to paint my cube as some of the stickers are warn , i used acrylic paint and am putting a nail polish anti-chip thing on after words, it makes it feel good and it also works good:), i just disasembled my cube
then put it back all correct:D then took off one side of stickers
and paint it
, ill be done tommorrow:) i have to apply the nail polish stuff to all the sides i painted
ill post pics when im done.
other then that it is a great way to “resticker” your cube, i would definitly recommend it:D
yeah, I’ve painted a few of my cubes too…it does work very well, they never ever peel usually. the only downside is that in some official competitions, painted cubes aren’t allowed…other than that though, it works awesomely!!
if you want some really good replacement stickers though, go to cubesmith.org
wow, thats alot of smilies
what about my use of smilys?
yeah, it looks like a thread of christmas lights
(i don’t have a rubiks cube and therefore have nothing to contribute)
Oh, I thought you meant that you were painting your cube solid colors on each side to tell people that you could do it.
James, why would painted cubes not be allowed in competition? Is it just that they want to be authentic, or is there some advantage to having a painted cube other than the appearance?
Dang… I wish i had sweet rubics cube skills!
seriously can someone pm me some good ways to practice or some good techniks or sumthin to let me be good(ive never actually completed one) Thanks!
nah, its just a stupid rule I think…actually, competitors used to need to use brand new cubes, that were only rubiks brand, and a certain color orientation, which really sucked. but fortunately, the rules have changed and you’re now allowed to have more customized cubes, just they’re not allowed to be painted sometimes.
do a search on these forums, I think I’ve actually posted links before to rubiks cube solutions quite a lot…also, go to http://speedcubing.com and look around.
good luck!
James, I love your sig line, my brother has a photo of Steve Prefontaine on his wall (my bro’s a runner). One thing though, wouldn’t you say crashing your Porsche in to a tree and killing yourself is also, to some extenet atleast, sacrificing the Gift?
thanks, thats awesome (: Pre’s pretty much my hero, except for the whole getting drunk and crashing and dying at age 24 thing…that kinda sucks. and I’ve also heard he was a bit of a jerk in real life. but still…he was an amazing guy.
Without Limits is a much better movie than Prefontaine, plus it was actually shot in Eugene to give it Authenticity. Plus it was written by Robert Towne and shot by Conrad Hall.
cool, I’ve seen Prefontaine, but not Without Limits…I guess I’ll check that one out.
wow, this thread is a lil off topic now…
as the starter of this thread i will give its being off topic my praise as it takes true thread jacking skill to go from painting a rubiks cube to steve prefontaine in one swift post
I saw both pre movies, but I don’t remember when.
okay back on topic heres the only good pic i could get at 11:30 with the worst digital camera mass produced
