Is that a family of bears? How cute! Don’t know if anyone else in the race had a similar experience, though I remember there were a few stories of odd sightings. I think Max deMilner was one of the (too few) Canadian riders in the race, and helped to promote the event both before and during the race.
I’m so glad I was able to participate in that, as I was pretty sure it would be a one-time thing. I don’t know if a more complex unicycle racing event has ever been held anywhere!
If you don’t know what RTL was, it was a five day stage race on unicycles, with relay teams of three riders plus one support person. It covered much of the province of Nova Scotia and featured teams from all over the world. Here’s my online photo album from that trip:
