Does anyone know the weight difference between these two? The person that answered the phone at UDC today, (not John D or Amy) said the KH hub is over three pounds. Is that right? Seems heavy.
Also, has anyone who has ridden both been able to discern any difference in the slop factor?

Yeah, The guy at the bike shop weighed my kh/schlumpf hub and said the same thing “it is a little over 3 pounds”.
I am not sure how much the road hub weighs though.
As far as the slop factor goes…
even though I last rode the road version of the hub over a year ago, the KH/Schlumpf hub feels very similar as far as play in the hub is concerned. You really don’t notice the play that much after you ride it for a bit.
+1. The inside tolerances of both models are the same.
Shouldn’t the KH version weigh more? If it weighed the same or less I’d question the difference in strength…
I emailed Florian about this. He said the KH hubs weighs 100 grams more. I decided that weight is worth the upgrade to a splined and more robust hub.
