sry had difficulting getting the pictures up here :o

looks like the older model

eh..crap..can i get a second opinion?

Yeah, the new one has a lot more clearance between the crown and tire. The new one also has a ring at the bottom of the seat tube.

damn that sucks..what do you think i should do?..should i complain about it or just buy it and see if it breaks?

Did they advertise it as the new frame?

i asked about there being a problem w/ the frame, and they guy told me that they don’t go by year models…and that its probably the newest version

That is definitly the old one. I would complain to the shop.

how serious is this frame problem..and i’ve heard that the company replaces them under warrenty..is this true?

yea they do but i would see about getting a new one. the company only replaces it once.

That is definately the NEW frame. Look at the second picture. The old one did not have all the red.

Yes it did.
The only red things in the picture are the seat post clamp, cranks and that sticker on the neck. I know that the old ones had all that, I am pretty sure the new ones do too.

I’ve had mine for almost a year and it hasn’t broken yet. I must be doing something wrong…

And from my experience, Torker is very good about replacing frames.

IT IS THE OLD ONE! (06 model)

here is a side by side comparison:

http://www.unicyclist.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52434

i suppose it is the old one. I called the guy at unicycle.com and he said everything they ship out to their stores is new and constantly going out of stock. I just don’t know if i should go through the hassle of finding the new one now..or just taking this one and seeing what happens

if i had to do it over again, i would have spent the extra money on a better uni.
i broke the frame. (replaced it with a bedford)
and also broke the stiffening plate inside the seat (i took apart the seat, and welded the plate back together, and reassembled the seat.)
i will probably be buying a better seat soon anyway…

so i have replaced: frame, seatpost, seatpost clamp, seat.
the only thing left to replace will be the hub, cranks and pedals.
all of this has ended up costing more than if i had just bought a better uni to begin with…

just my 2 cents…

i know what you are saying..but i don’t have the money for a better uni right now..and the one i have now is about to fall apart and i can’t go that long without one

edit: actually read the thread

I’d say just get a nimbus frame.

the frame on the 06 will break… and it’s not really anything to do with how hard you ride it. it’s a faulty weld. it will just eventually start to crack, even under normal use. you will be much happier with something else. i know the money thing can be an issue, but you will save money in the long run, rather than replacing stuff as it breaks.

just an approximate example:

20" DX $259
new frame $60
seat post $15
clamp $9

equals $343 (not including shipping)

if you do make the decision to go with a DX, at least make sure it is the new frame.

Keep in mind also if you stick it out with your current uni, and save up a measly more 40$, you can have a qu ax trials for 299$+shipping.
