Is this the new or old Torker DX Frame???

just out of curiosity… what is the bike shop charging for the DX? (with the broken frame  )

good point! and that’s less than buying a new frame!

alright i’ve decided not to get it…the bike shop is charging $220. I supposed i could manage with mine for as long as it lasts…The thing is the wheel creaks and rattles and the axle is twisted and the pedals are bent…so it isn’t much fun lol. Maybe i’ll call unicycle.com again and complain

Seats and seatposts on just about all trials unicycles are virtually the same. Unless you get a carbon fiber seat base it could break. The DX seat is exactly the same as the KH, Qu-Ax, and Koxx seat’s ‘as far as strength’.

i just want you to know that i’m not trying to discourage you…
just trying to save you from what i have already gone through.
i was in the same situation: my crappy old uni was on it’s last leg, and i got a DX cause i didnt have alot of money. but when you buy a new uni and the frame breaks, it sucks. i didnt even have mine for a month… luckily when it broke, i was able to buy a new frame, and didnt have to go very long not being able to ride. sure, torker “might” replace it… or maybe not. someone on here was saying that they had to pay to ship it to torker, for them to evaluate the frame to see if it was indeed eligible for replacement under warranty. it would just save time, money, and the hassle of even having to deal with any of that.

all i’m saying is that, for me, i wish i had just bought something else to begin with.

yes,
but the point i was trying to make was…
why bother replacing a torker dx, one piece at a time?

I have only broken my frame on the 2006 DX, and replaced it with the Nimbus II frame.

Everything else is holding up fine. That is with grinds, drops exceding 8 feet, stairset ranging from 2 - 11, and everything betwee. Falling off of walls, into rivers and other forms of water, having it crash down rocks and other hills.

I have no regret buying the DX for my trials and street uni.

looked at udc today and the quax trials is now $323?
yesterday it was $299… what the?

is this quax trials better than the dx?..thats not tooo expensive…what is the absolute best trials uni i could get under like 350

They’re pretty much the same…the qu ax might be a tad stronger than the dx, but not by much. You won’t have to worry about the frame snapping on the qu ax though. The nimbus hoppley is a very good uni as well. I think it’s either 340 or 350. But for some reason UDC never keeps the hoppley up for more than like 2 days.

its pretty bad you can count on it breaking eventually even if you dont ride that hard.

If you just rode on the 2006 frame, it will not brake.

Unless by just riding your doing a lot of intense muni trails.

The frame will brake from bad, faulty, large drops and from any wreck you do.

I side-hopped a 8-set and thats what gave the initial hairline crack in my frame. I kept riding it for about a month before it snapped because I put too much sideways force onto the frame when jumping onto 2 pallets.

when mine cracked, i had not done any drops bigger than a curb. i was practicing riding 1 footed, and riding SIF. (perhaps that was too much stress on the frame?)

i’m willing to bet that it would eventually break, even under normal riding… it’s the weld that is faulty.

Mine had no signs or symptoms of breaking. One night I started practicing doing hops with my bad hand on the handle, and on my third hop I ripped it right off.
